I have two PGX24/SM58 mics for my Karaoke business, and they take a licking and keep on rockin'. They have been dropped several times with zero effect. I have replaced the mic balls twice when dented and they look good as new.As for the battery cap, I have had no problems. Now, if you wrench it down super tight, well sure...it's gonna crack. I just tighten the end finger tight. After all, it's not going to unscrew itself and come off. Like many I was wary of letting the drunks use them, but after a year I let everyone use these mics. Why? They are super durable, easy to use and sound great. I cant remember the last time I got out one of my wired SM58 backups. This mic also has a little known feature that I LOVE. If you hold down the button at power on for 10 seconds, it locks the power button out, meaning that someone can't shut it off or mute it accidentally. You know how people are. Give em a button and they want to push it. With this features, the mic stays on...all the time.Just buy one. You wont be sorry.

I have had this mic for not even a year, it sounds great and it looks prity sleek, however the construction on this microphone below the capsule is HORABLE! Within the first week the battery pack slip cracked, only i have used it and i did not tighten it extensivelly. the cracks grew within two weeks and now i cant even use the bottom swivel cap, just fell off. As well as the bottom cap, my on/off button popped off, it is outside the enclosure altogether now. it looks like, within two weeks, i slammed it against the grownd repeatedly. i am so furious with the cheap plastic composure. Besided it looking like a broaken to hell mic, it sounds fine still, but i would never let anyone use this mic in the conition it's in, i am oppoled at shure for making such a flimsey piece of crap! I would never even think of buying it for anything other than a paperwieght. I love shure microphones and headhones, but this is just dissapionting. <:(

Comments about Shure PGX24/SM58 Handheld Wireless System:
very dissappointed! the unit would only work if you did not touch it. if you attempted to hold it in hand it would fail. put it back in the mic
clip it started working again. Shure has always been the industry standard but i am having my doubts. i bought an EV unit instead and it works as advertised.

I used this in a room with about 100 people sitting in front of two big speakers. The mic was passed around, and even directly in front of the speakers it worked very well. Great, clear sound and much less tendency than our other mics to feed back.

Comments about Shure PGX24/SM58 Handheld Wireless System:
We use this mic, with others, for church specials. It has a clear sound and is a very good buy. Could use a carry case for protection like the corded mics have, perhaps they have them, I did not ask yet.

Comments about Shure PGX24/SM58 Handheld Wireless System:
The lead singer in a band I was in used this wireless system. When that group broke up, she took it with her. I had borrowed it on occasion to use with my mobile D J business & found it to be a super handy mic setup. After she asked for it back, I decided to purchase one for myself. I used it this last weekend for a big annual fundraising event that required D J music as well as a "Live Auction". The auctioneer commented on how nice & clear my system sounded with this mic. Plus he liked the fact that he could move around the room and not be teathered to the podium by a mic cord. This unit will see a lot of use in the future, not only in my D J business, but my live band as well.

.
I bought a PGX/SM58 Wireless for our bands Elvis tribute. I use SM58 wired but needed a wireless to go mobile when handing out scarves. Elvis always had the best and thats what this mic is. I've used less expensive wireless and was sorry. The quality in this wireless is as
good as my wired 58. Easy set up, great value I'm just sorry I did'nt get one years ago.
Comments about Shure PGX24/SM58 Handheld Wireless System:
Love how easy PGX system was to set up and use! I am a church worship leader, and this system is both affordable and reliable for what we need (music and singing, preaching, various events, etc.) I recieved the transmitter and reciever system off of the UPS truck on Wednesday afternoon, it was plugged in and ready to go for Wednesday night services in no time at all! Great product!

We have these at our church, we have had them for almost six years and they are still running strong! The only thing is after a few years the battery cover start to break off but with a little duct tape they are as good as new!! Will buy again in a heartbeat!
Comments about Shure PGX24/SM58 Handheld Wireless System:
Hey, DS from Canada. I think the blinking light is telling you that you have put the mic in a mode designed so the soundman can keep the talent from turning off the mics accidently. Check the manual. I think it has to do with how long you hold the power button down. In my experience, this is a GREAT feature, not a problem.
