    Adequate for in ear monitoring

I have recently jumped into the world of in-ear monitors. I purchased these as an introductory set of ear buds to see if I would even like the isolation from the stage (lead vcls, gtr&FOH!) I have abused my ears with loud stage wedges for countless years and I needed an alternative before I ended up with permanent damage. The scl 2's sounded horrible just listening to music but when I ran a stereo send from a peavey 16FX through a compressor/limiter+BBE into a powerplay headphone amp the results were astounding! It's like being in the studio all the time! There is alot to properly setting up an in-ear monitor system but the rewards are worth the improvement in all areas of your music! Dont hesitate if you are thinking about switching. Do some research and you will save alot. These ear buds will provide a great introduction for a nice price. P.S. hardwired setups are least expensive and have superior sound quality! M.F. you should be selling JUMPAUDIO!

I have had these IE for 2 months and the wire has already let me down.  I guess that I will have to use only the left ear with these headphones.  I think the round case is the biggest issue.  The case isn't big enough for the headphones and its a tight awkward fit that even looks terrible.

I'm on my 3rd set of these now.  The 2 reviewers above that mentioned the "cord getting ruined" and "Right speaker cutting out" - same here.  For 3 pairs.  Yeah, Shure stands by their warranty, but do I really need to send in my headphones for maintenance every 6 months?  Sending in my 3rd pair tomorrow for "repair", probably just eBay my replacement and get something that actually lasts.

The sound quality is fine, but all of the "sleeves" are HUGE, and kind of uncomfortable. My ears started to hurt after a while. They isolate pretty well; I'd say they had a reduction rating of 18-20 db (just a guess). They work fine as monitors on stage.

These are absolutely outstanding. Sound quality is exceptional. Just make sure you get the right "sleeves". Once they are properly fit, these headphones give you great soundscape and relatively flat eq.
