The key to enjoying great sound with these is to use the right size inserts and putting them in the way they were designed. These earphones need to be inserted into the ear as if they were ear plugs. When inserted correctly, all you should be able to hear is your own breathing. There should be zero background/outside noise. Only then will you hear incredible, isolated audio. Can't stress enough reading the instructions carefully.
These are a very good value and Musician's Friend is a great place to order them.

Comfortable, but don't sound near as good as the Shure SE215. I used Shure SE215 playing on stage, and tried music on them, and they really blew me away. Amazing sound! Didn't have enough for the Shure SE215 so decided to try these, hoping the sound quality might be close. Not close.
1. bass relatively absent
2. mid-highs a bit tinny.
3. Noise isolation good, and comfortable.
Just average sort of cheap sound. Not really bad, but in all honesty I don't recommend getting them. They're quite comfortable, and I believe they seem to be made well. But, I'm going to save up for the Shure SE215.

    Comments about Shure SE112 Earphone:

This replaced Shure's discontinued low end noise canceling model that I finally destroyed by catching on the gym equipment one too many times and couldn't get repaired. Since this is used in the gym then I will miss the short line, often used at concerts with my NANO, that used a male/female connector to an extension line. Hence, this unit may not last long once I start catching it on handles and jerking the buds out of my ear or the 3.5mm plug out of the iPOD. What may be ideal for me is a bluetooth headset with noise canceling ability and no wires to get caught on equipment.

        Comments about Shure SE112 Earphone:

Bought it as an in ear monitor while playing live. Difficult to place in ear. Just plane uncomfortable, but bought them anyway assuming they would be better than average since they carried the "Shure" name.
Used them two or three times then the left side stopped working.

          Comments about Shure SE112 Earphone:

I'm a drummer in a cover band. I wanted a lower cost IEM type ear bud that was comfortable and very light weight. Since I'm not running across a stage, I can use a hardwire solution and save a lot of money. These sound great when paired with my Behringer headphone pack and they are very light weight. The cable is long enough for me to have the pack at my waist and move freely behind my kit without the need for an extension.

I chose this version because I didn't want the mic. The 3 conductor jack is perfect with listening devices.

          Comments about Shure SE112 Earphone:

I had 2 different pairs of headphones at around 40 euros each and they just sounded great! But, unfortunately these are way too expensive for what they offer. Here, Shure did really wrong this time!

                  Comments about Shure SE112 Earphone:

I was quite depressed the first time when putting on this headphone. It is my first pair of Shure Headphones too. I was an amateur musician some years ago and later very addictive to hi-fi . For some years I spent over 80% of income in hi-fi; will you believe I can eat breads only mostly for more than 3 years?
For the past decade I spent only less than 10% of income in musical expenditures and Shure SE 112 seems quite expensive for me.
I was so depressed when I first put on this headphone because the music quality was completely unacceptable even compared with my old headphone at less than half the price of Shure SE112. This made me very upsetted and I have considered to buy another brand. I was so stupid to try to put the "L" headphone to my right ear and vice versa and you won't believe the difference is so big that has completely change my understandings of headphones. The tonal balance and the richness have exceeded my expectations with the cost.

I use these in conjunction with my iPhone while working out, washing our vehicles or doing yard work. The sound is consistent and they have not failed me since buying them Sept. Of 2014. It helps if the user is familiar with the steps involved to properly insert them in your ears, if not done correctly the sound will be very "tinny" and unsatisfactory. My only wish is that Shure would come out with these in a Bluetooth version.
