Designed for the demanding audio specifications of live performance.

Featuring Dual High-Definition MicroDrivers, the SE425 uses a dedicated tweeter and woofer for an accurate and balanced sound. Detachable cable with formable wire enables easy replacement and secure, comfortable fit. Sound Isolating sleeves in multiple sizes provide up to 37 dB of isolation.

Comfortable sound isolating sleeves block up to 37 dB of ambient noise. Sound isolation technology prevents outside noise from interfering with your listening experience, whether onstage or on-the-go. Because every ear is different, the Fit Kit includes three sizes (S, M, L) of the flex and black foam sleeves as well as 1 pair of triple flange and 1 pair of universal fit yellow foam sleeves. A good seal is key to optimizing sound isolation and bass response as well as maximizing comfort during extended wear.

A durable and compact carrying case is included to provide a convenient, tangle-free solution to store and travel with your earphones. An 1/8" (3.5 mm) to 1/4" converter for all Shure earphones that offers a solution for home stereos or other applications with ¼" jacks.

Comments about Shure SE425 Sound Isolating Earphones:

A great pair of headphones. Isolation is awesome. I have used these with my ipod while running yard equipment and cannot hear the machine at all. Great true sound quality. My main use is playing with my worship team at church. These are not cheap but I feel they are well worth the money.

Comments about Shure SE425 Sound Isolating Earphones:

I received the first pair defective as the cable had a short in it. The replacement pair arrived in the same condition. The construction is flimsy and not suited for on stage use. The westone um3x are a better choice but not carried by musicians friend

Not as much bang for the buck as I'd hoped.

I'm in charge of sound for a church that just switched to in-ear monitors (MyMix system - it rocks!) and we needed some good quality ear buds, but no one local had any Shure products to demo for us. So we bought a set of SE215, SE315, and SE425 earbuds from MusiciansFriend to try out.

We found that the cheapest of the bunch - the Shure SE215's - had the best quality sound and widest frequency response, and at the price they're a great bang for the buck.

The SE425's in theory should have sounded better and crisper than the single driver SE215's, but they didn't. They sounded midrangey, lacked bass response, and lacked high end clarity. Very muddy headphone for the money, compared to the SE215's which were crisp, clean, clear, and full sounding.

              Kind of dissapointed

Comments about Shure SE425 Sound Isolating Earphones:

If you think about it, these headphones are pretty expensive. I mean, if you dish out this much for a pair of headphones you would expect to hear a difference in compare to the cheaper headphones right? Well, I bought these headphones, and I knew the sound was going to be relativley flat in compared to other headphones because they are meant for live performances. I was pretty dissapointed to notice that the sound sucked pretty bad, and it was pretty fuzzy, and when the jack rotated around in my iPod (when I was testing it), it actually degraded the sound, depending on where it was (my wife's crappy headphones worked no problem). In terms of quality, they look pretty decent, but I sure don't see the value of these headphones. I was aware when I bought them that all of these in-ear monitors are overpriced (especially the wireless systems... the prices are INSANE!). I honestly don't know if there is any difference in sound between these and the SE 115, SE 215 and SE 315. You can't try this product before you buy it, and where I purchased it, I cannot return it. What a waste of money.

              Great In Ear Monitors

              By Steve-T1osd

              from Calgary, AB, Canada

Comments about Shure SE425 Sound Isolating Earphones:

I just replaced my Shure SCL4 in ear monitors with the SE425 and while the main specs are virtually the same, the level of quality is far better in the SE425 than in Shure's previous efforts. The SCL line had well known cable issue which have been resolved with the new SE line. In all, everything about these monitors seems to be higher quality. From the cables to the actual monitors they're much nicer. The sounds is virtually the same as my previous SCL4s. The only difference in specs is that the SE425s go down to 20Hz from 22Hz for the SCL4s, no real difference there. The sounds is exactly what you'd expect from an in ear monitor, flat. If you're looking for big bass then look something else. These monitors will give you a flat and true response that's not colored by heavy bass or treble. The SE425's are quite a pain to get in your ear properly, but worth it once you do. Plus with up to 37dB of isolation you can't beat it. I can play drums with these in and it blocks out a large amount of the actual drum sound allowing me to hear what's coming through the monitors clearly without having to put the volumes at extreme levels. If you're looking for a true in ear monitor these are a great buy.
