The Shure SLX Beta58 Handheld Wireless System includes the Beta 58A microphone cartridge, the SLX2 transmitter, and the SLX4 diversity receiver. Beta58A mic features a tightly-focused directional supercardioid pattern; a pneumatic internal shock-mount system that cuts down handling noise; built-in spherical wind and pop filter; break resistant stand adaptor; and smooth extended 50Hz to 16kHz frequency response.

SLX2 transmitter features: Shure's patented audio reference companding for crystal-clear sound beyond the limits of conventional wireless technology; automatic setup; backlit LCD with timeout feature; frequency and power lockout; 3-segment battery fuel gauge; 2 included AA batteries providing 8 hours of continuous use; and 518-782mHz operating range.

The SLX4 diversity receiver is unprecedented in its ease of use and sports a broad array of pro features including: automatic frequency selection, automatic transmitter setup, 960 selectable frequencies across a 24mHz bandwidth, detachable 1/4 wave antennas, microprocessor-controlled diversity, RF presence LED, 5-segment audio meter, multi-function backlit LCD, low battery indicator, frequency and power lockout, rugged metal chassis, volume control on rear of unit, 1/2 rack design, furnshed rack hardware, non-slip bumpers for use out of rack, plus XLR and 1/4" outputs.

Pros: In my experience, Shure just works. Worked out of the box. Plugged it in, turned on the unit, then the mic, and then walked around all the former dead spots (we'd been using a legacy Shure wireless mic that stopped working once the FCC bandwidth change went in effect): voila! No dead spots. Pristine sound. No complaints on that front.

Cons: Given all the cheap options out there, it'd have been nice to see them come down in price, but folks gotta eat I guess. Minus one star for the fat shape (handle), as aesthetically it just feels/looks wrong and forces us to keep an assortment of mic handles which is awkward.

Will probably buy again (b/c we can't afford to jump up to the top tier options) and would recommend this product unhesitatingly.

I have owned this for two years now and I have never had a problem.. No drops and the sound quality is excellent. Have used it in high humidity situations outdoors as well as indoors. Love it.

I recently just upgraded from a PGX SM 58 to this and there is alot of difference in quality and clarity...i think the Beta is hands down the way to go.im a male rock/blues type singer. this mic is less boomy for me. overall great system.

By far the best mic I have owned wired or other wise. For the price it gets no better than this, easy setup, all the hardware you need for any system, and amazing sound. I've never had a mic that was so respocive and clean, yet did not distort or pop when I come in close for the screams. A real voice saver!

This mic is great I have had mine for about a month now and it is excellent. It doesn't cut out, there is now pack that you have to wear with it, and it comes with a lot of stuff to rack mount it mic clip case bumpers and so on
