excellent mic, well built. gives lots of movement freedom for guitarists-even works well for piano-keyboard players. I own 2 and have used them for many years without any problems. I use a 20 ft. xlr cable with an on-off switch that is built in to the cord to connect to the mixer. Since you cannot get away from the mic to clear your throat, you need to be able to shut it down quickly. The mic picks up exceptionally well but only within about 3 inches of the source so back feed is very minimal. I you need to be hands-free, limited room for mic placement, or in need of movement freedom, this is a great mic and at a good price for the quality.

This headset picked up far too much of the sound of my snare and ride cymbals (not for drummers!). Otherwise, very good vocal quality, easy to adjust, and stayed on my head nicely. A nice feature would be an on/off switch We will purchase the Crown CM311A.

Comments about Shure SM10A-CN Headset Mic:

The sound is okay but the chord attached to the power supply is too short. You need to buy an additional chord if you want any freedom of movement. The head piece is also a little small and is not very comfortable.

    • Football field announcing

Comments about Shure SM10A-CN Headset Mic:

I have been announcing high school football for years with this mic. It's not as strong as the SM58 but has the same general sound profile. And it doesn't treat the fans to all the pressbox conversation. I use a line switch since it doesn't have a switch. Big deal.

Great sound, but the volume is a little low. You have to turn it up louder than a stand mic. But all in all a great mic for the money

This mic is exceptional. Sounds like the sm58, which is good. Stays put when I play drums, adjusts well, cannot comment on durability yet.

Comments about Shure SM10A-CN Headset Mic:

As a keyboard player and vocalist the headset allows hands free operation with excellent quality clear sound through a PA. However, an on/off switch is really required for unwanted broadcasts e.g. coughing, talking etc.. One solution is to link to a BOSS A/B footswitch which is of excellent quality for a reasonable price. But you then lose the XLR connections.
