I originally purchased the Sony ECM-DS70P to go with an open box portable Hi-MD that was missing ti from the set. However, I recently purchased a Kodak ZI8 portable HD pocket comcorder (recommended to me by a salesperson over the flip I was originally considering, as it has electronic image stabilization and an externa stereo mic jack).I tested this by recording a live New Years' show at a local club, of a band caled "-Itis". I was astonished at how crisp and clear and well-defined the sound was, as I was standing a few feet from the front of the stage, with the mic slipped to the middle of my shirt. The club in which I made this recording has a large sound reinforcement system, and recordings of audio from their usually tend to come out overdriven and badly distrorted. Not with this mic! Highly, highly recommended.
I used this with my digital recording from my computer. I needed something with good quality, but that wasn't going to break the bank. This little mic did the trick! What a difference I heard in the sound.
