The Soundcraft Notepad 124FX mixer boasts Soundcraft audio performance with the acclaimed GB30 mic preamp and EQ technology in a highly-compact and solid chassis.

This great little Soundcraft 4 channel mixer is perfect, at least for what I'm using it for. I am now completely sick of ADD/DDD. Pro Tools & every other DAW system can kiss my ass. I'm a musician & don't feel like having to get a BS to run this shit. I am an old school dude & have Film & Audio degrees, along with being a musician for 30 + years. I'm now running AAD, I only like the capture digitally at the final mix. I still like to print the tracks on tape & then run the tape back through the Soundcraft & mix it down to an Edirol 96/24 pro recorder. Take the stereo mixdown file, put it into the computer (iTunes), or you can take it to Soundtrack Pro just for normalization, if needed. The nice thing about this board & my Tascam 424, is I get no noise floor going in or out. The levels & pre-amps are hot enough, that you do not need any trim/gain on the 424 at all. The board will be your control surface in & out. My only con, was you can not send separate FX to each channel. But, for the price, you really can't ask for any more. If you use it for live, you need an amp.   -Thanks for your time

Small but very useful

Features:

I recently needed to "downsize" my very large mixer to something smaller without sacrificing quality.

Enter the  "Soundcraft notepad 124/fx mixer".  As others have stated, this unit does and has everything I need for a home studio. It is very "Quiet" in the recording chain. It took me a couple of tries to get my recording and monitoring flow setup correctly ( had a little signal bleeding for a time), but I got that straightend out and am very happy with the results.

What can you say about a well priced, good valued mixer?  buy it and try it!

Quality:

Very sturdy, great that it has a built in on/off switch. Effects seem to sound good ( use some reverbs so far).

Value:

For the Money, a terrific buy!

Overall:

I've rated this mixer in the High Quality range because it really does exceed my expectations for inputs, transparent sound, useful signal routing, compactness with out sacrificing quality and did I mention a great value for the money. Isn't that what its all about? getting the biggest bang for the money spent!

Steal Soundcraft Sound !

Features:

Take the time to look over the specs. This little mixer is LOADED with features.

Quality:

Overall the build quality is good. Treat all pots nicely (plastic shafts). If you take care when using 'em, they'll last.

The bottom chasis feet are molded together with the plastic side caps. The feet are rough and if you're not careful,  they might scratch the surface of a table, etc. I'm going to replace 'em with rubber feet (fron the local hardware).

Value:

Simply the best deal!!! Look at all the features & effects!

Overall:

Fact - This mixer is the best deal out there. this price for a quality mixer with good effects? Unheard of! It sounds fab, the pres, the line ins, eq... Good, seriously - very good.

This mixer easily competes with much more expensive gear. I feel it easily surpasses other competitors in it's class and beyond.

I owned the Soundcraft LX7  - the 124's mic pres sound the same, clean, clear, and all around good.

I highly recommend this little powerhouse mixer.

big features in a small package...

Features:

After buying the SC EFX8, I wanted the 124FX to use for a duo.  I'm a  beginner, but it's exactly what I wanted from an effects standpoint.  You will need a cheat sheet handy for the presets (no big deal to me) since they are not listed on the board.   The buttons are kind of small which is OK with me.  Add a USB connection and it would be perfect to me.

Quality:

Built sturdy, should last while under normal usage.  The lexicon fx are very good.

Value:

Excellent value!!!  Bar none, excellent value....

Overall:

This is going to be my main mixer.  I cannot say enough good things about it.  If you need a mixer with fx, then I would go with this mixer.

Quality:

I have been very happy with this new mixer---the quality is very solid and the features are excellent--for the price it can't be beat---I do find that the effects selector jumps to a highr number sometimes as you ar selecting an effect #   ----this could be a defect or just a design error---I don't want to return it and go thru all that just for this issue---If I set it slowly and carefully there is no problem, I stays where its set .----It would be nice to have EQ on the line inputs because keys sometimes do need eq ---however having 4 stereo line inputs is cool---and four mike inputs too---It fits my needs very well for a small band live sound situation ---Get one --I would recommend it to others

Overall:

I feel the value is exceptional at this price---you just can't believe the quality and features for what it costs---it's on sale ---get one while they last
