I've only had this deck for a few days & it's my first CD turntable deck, so I can't speak for durability or how they stand up to Pioneer or Denon decks, but all in all I am very pleased with my purchase. The only dissapointment is that you can only record samples up to 5 seconds long, but that's really not too big of a deal for me. Also, the manual says to hold down pitch bend button while turning the encoder to adjust jog sensativity, when in actuality you must hold down pitch lock while turning the encoder. Scratchibility is good out of the box, but for best scratch results I turned jog sensativity all the way up & it's excellent, fast scratches are no problem. You can use the main platter for vinyl mode while simultaniously using the outer jog for effects, which is a very practical feature and saving settings is easy, just hold down the save button until display flashes "saving". I'm using this deck with split outputs, one set to my delta 1010lt for timecode with Virtual DJ software and the other into matching inputs on my mixer for regular cds. Even with the outputs split sound quality is great & my timecode signal stays at 100%. 4 hot cues, up to 100% pitch adjustment, effects, fader start/ relay play, digi out, key lock, excellent vinyl mode, adjustable start/ brake times (as low as 0ms), seamless looping with b point edit, what more could you want in a $300 deck?
I am a beginner in the DJing business so my intentions are to find equipment that is easy to use. The Stanton C314 has been just that for me. Really helps you progress and earn more then with somethin of lesser value or less features.
I would highly advise anyone who is serious about DJing to add this to their personal arsenal. I found the quality of this product exceptional and very easy to use. My favorite features were the built in multi-effects, Mp3 compatibility for those who have an Mp3 library, and the LCD screen for optimal visibility in nearly all lighting conditions. It was a great purchase!
This has got to be the best cd-turntable in this price range. The features are great, and are easier to use than anything I have. Seamlessly looping on-the-fly is simple. The automatic beat-counter is top-notch and the filters and effects are auto-synched to the song's tempo--so this coupled with my 8-track recorder will replace my sampler. I can't afford the upper-end price range on this type of product, but I don't need anything more than this player provides. I also don't have a lot of free time, but this player required no ramp-up time in order to be used to the fullest. I can't say enough good things...
I bought this on a whim due to the low cost during the sale. I have other turntables, but the ease of use for thes is incredible. I can imagine a new DJ picking up a pair of these and being able to jump right into Club DJ or party work. This is a great product for the money. I recommend it.
