Tried It Twice...

By Anonymous Mobile DJ

from Minnesota

The first unit arrived and did not work - it would even recognize the right CD deck, nor would the deck open. Since I've had good luck with Stanton products in the past, I thought maybe I had gotten a bad unit (hey it happens, right?) Ordered up a new one, installed it and it seemed to work fine, that is until I got to the show. About an hour into the thing, the deck would not read CD's and began skipping and clicking. It also had this strange buzzing/squealing that came through the system (never had this problem in the past with any other piece of equipment). The noise was exacerbated by some of the effects built into my mixer and was more pronounced with delays, choruses, and reverbs. Buyer beware on this piece of equipment. I'm moving on to something different and more dependable.

Great performance/Great value

I'm currently using this setup with my DNS-3000.I'm beginning to prefer using the stanton system over the Denon. Beat matching seems much easier with the stanton although I prefer the cueing system on the denon(smoother audio cueing) rather than the stantons clicky cueing, but it works out well and you cant beat the price.

Noisy

By mnbb

from Minnesota

Plugged it in, hooked it up, turned it on, and immediately got a buzzing/beeping sound when the gain on the amp (NOT the mixer) was turned up. It disappeared again when I turned this unit off. I should note that it was NOT a ground-loop buzz, NOR AC hum. The best way to describe it would be to say it's like a staticky/squealing sound. When the unit is in a powering on or paused state, the "Play" LED flashes on and off. If you don't have either side playing (paused or no disc) there is also what I could almost call a beeping / interference that goes on and off *exactly* with the play/pause LED. This sound is easily heard even with your amp gain turned way down.Note: When music is actually playing the sound isn't really noticeable at all. I should also add that I did not have to have the gain maxed out to hear the intereference. It was all too apparent at low gain levels.I RMA'd the first unit thinking it could have just been a defective, but 2nd one arrived today and does same thing. Sending back and getting a different brand's comparable model.***Features were rated 7 because it has very basic features; not even looping.Quality was rated 5 because of the noise and because the anti-shock memory didn't seem to work all that great either.***Sound quality when actually playing music was great with the volume up, however. Think twice about this if sound quality matters. (When doesn't it?)
