I had Logic...and thought that it was the most un logic thing around....and I didnt fall into the "must get a MAC" faze..so i got Cubase for the PC and after having a farley strong PC..Pentuim4 2.56, I have got on very well...it only crashed when im on the internet at the same time...or on MSN, whihc is to be expected, but when im doing a heavy load it turn everything esle off and I am not sure if i have crached once like that. I am begginging to get the SX erge as it has a few things i would love to have....bottom line if you want to recrd Audio and edit it, and maybe play with some Midi synths and instuments then Cubase is a daddy! ...not much you cant do, GREAT for writters and for people who will use it with a guitar on thier lap
Cubase has a very nice UI; one that requires very little learning in my opinion. I used to use a Roland hardware sequencer and a Yamaha rack module. I was at one time very wary of anything software-based. All the products I had ever used seemed to be very unstable. I'm now using Cubase, Hypersonic, and other software-based modules, which pretty much beats the socks off of any $3,000 synthesizer for the price. The VST instruments that come with Cubase aren't all that bad either, my favorite being the analog modeling synth A1.Very stable on my PC with middle road specs (Athlon running at 1.5 gHz, 1 gig of ram, two hard drives). I've yet to encounter a crash while running multiple VSTs.
