These monitors are something special for the price. Infact unbeatable for the price. Even more expensive monitors do not sound as good as these. Common faults or flaws among many are a 'tinny' and sometimes unbearable top, but not with the Tannoys - the top is sweet, accurate and pleasurable. The bass response is equally impressive and higly dynamic, well suited to ALL types of music. Power handling is 50 Watts RMS but they can take alot more.

I first saw the Tannoy Reveal at the Channel M TV Studios here in Vancouver, and was told by their Cheif Enginner how good they are. Well, he was right! The styling is quite stunning in my book, and the woodwork is beautifully done considering the price. The sound is smooth and sweet with a wonderfully textured detail. I can listen for hours upon hours, and at quite high levels, and never feel any listener's fatigue. The bass is rich and quite deep, with superb pace and timing. Midrange, is very balanced, with a finesse and character that makes voices so lifelike, that one sometimes has to look around the room for the person. I found pendingan afternoon positioning the speakers carefully in the listening room paid of huge rewards in superb pinpoint imaging. If your choice for a loudspeaker is for a neutral, truthful, sounding studio monitor, then you have found your pot of gold with this superb product by Tannoy.
These Monitors exhibit undefined lows and very smooth Upper midrange and highs. This combination gives the engineer a false representation of the facts. Mixes tend to translate poorly to other systems, as volume spikes and low-end definition seem to exaggerate greatly. Upper-mids are so smooth on these speakers that one tends to over compensate for the lack of bite. These monitors are not at all flat. Still, with all it's flaws the Tannoy reveal provides the amateur user with decent sound and features. Reveals are definitely among the best if not the best performer IN THIS PRICE RANGE.
I own a pair of Tannoy Reveal passive monitors, I also have a pair of $8000 Magnepans, they both compare about the same sound wise - the Tannoys have a little better bass response, better range. Magnepans are just slightly clearer, if you don't like very true music you won't like Tannoys. Best bang/buck monitors I've found.
An awesome sounding moniter. I've owned a set of these for over 2 years now and they're great. I've used other moniters in the same price range, but I like the sound quality of these moniters better than the competing brands.
For the money, these are the best you can get... compared to other monitors, you can pick both up for a great price!
The best Monitors for one's studio bar none!
