Generally speaking,I have a great rapport with Tascam products. I always get the right level of functionality, built quality and an optimal sound quality. Wether if it is an audio interface, multitrack recorder or in this case, the TH-2 headphones, with Tascam you will get a good product for the right price or even more. Although one should not expect a high end product for this price, I would dare to say that I like them way more than some of my higher end headphones like the HD-280, especially for their level of comfortability.

They sound great, with just enough punch and I like the fact that they are light enough to be taken out with my iPod for a nice walk(but not running).
The sound isolation is great, and I can ride the Subway without hearing any noise from the outside. The cable is little too long for an outside use but I like it for a recording situation. I personally prefer a flat cable and not a telephone cord style and the TH-2 has just that. The only thing to watch for is the 1/8 inch plug that does feel little cheap and it is prone to be broken-but time will tell.
All in all-I love the TH-2 and the price is incredible.

The sound was clear, with fairly decent articulation over the eq range, at lower volumes. When pressed a bit for volume, the speakers broke up in mid and low freqs. I a/b compared against my Sony 7506s and, as you might expect, the Sony's were significantly louder and cleaner, with no distortion. The Tascams are probably best suited for lower volume applications, scratch tracking in studio or for recreational listening. I bought mine on a SDOTD 2 FOR 1, and one set had a wire with an intermittent open, causing signal to drop out. The other pair works well. I'm undecided whether to replace the cord or send them back. I'd recommend these cans to a home recordist or recreational listener, but if you're serious about sound quality and durability, spend the money and get a GOOD set of cans.

Comments about Tascam TH-02 Recording Studio Headphones:

The price was very tempting so I decided to give these headphones a shot. They're OK. If you're looking for something great and are willing to pay for it, look at Bose headphones (but they are way, way more expensive than these). I probably wouldn't buy these again, not because they're bad, just because they're not that great.

    They're also a little tight.

Comments about Tascam TH-02 Recording Studio Headphones:

I bought these as a pair of my other headphones got killed by my toddler. I mainly wanted to use them for recording and guitar tracking and occasionally just listening to music or for watching videos online.

For the price it does just that and not much more but is overall a good value.

Do not expect to be blown away by these headphones or the sound quality. They are pretty comfortable to wear and do not hurt to wear for extended periods of time.

The sound is clear and pretty balanced/flat but still could be better.

Overall great if you need some extra sets for your studio or just something to hear tracks though however I would not use these for professional mixing.

Comments about Tascam TH-02 Recording Studio Headphones:

I primarily use this product for home Internet radio and recording. Thankfully, these are not Dr. Dre's. If you're expecting booming bass this is not the headphone for you. The sound quality is excellent particularly if you employ a mixer with EQ.
Once again, as with the Mackie Mix 8, the wiring at the input jack and into the headphones is potentially a problem.
I am not a fan of 1/8 inch plugs that require an adapter for 1/4 inch plugs. If your amplifier, mixer, or other gear plug in vertically, 1/8 inch plugs plus an adapter eventually puts too much pressure on the inputs.

I use these to project a track while drumming. They find the perfect balance of sound projection and sound isolation, cutting out highs on my kit and leaving just the warm, sweet, low tones. They sound great, and I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

Comments about Tascam TH-02 Recording Studio Headphones:

Bought these for my 15 yr old son. He only used them for a few hours a day for exactly 6 days. The wire above the jack had short in them. Very disappointed with the quality of these headphones. But since I got what I thought was great deal on them, not much I can do. I do not recommended them.

Comments about Tascam TH-02 Recording Studio Headphones:

Excellent value for a Stupid Deal.
I got 3 and would highly recommend these if you need several pairs of headphones around the house for casual use, for school computer stations, or multiple headsets to bandmembers to monitor a mix while playing. Cable is straight and very long and includes a mini plug and large adapter.
Not audiophile quality as it has very little low frequency response and is geared mostly to midrange frequency. Would not hesitate to buy more at a similar price.
They are more sturdy than similar priced phones at box stores that I have gotten before.
