These headphones have the most comfortable ear-pads I've worn in a while. The thread-on adapter to step up to 1/4" stereo input made me happy. Professional level gear has all 1/4". The smaller size is for consumer products, boomboxes, and cel-phones.
For other brands I had to buy the adapter, this one is included. Others merely push on. This is threaded and screw on. Will not slip.
I do recording daily and upload videos to YouTube.
I belong to a musician only website with a world wide audience. I use headphones to monitor my mixes, to double-check the stereo image. These are a top quality product. Perfect for any home studio. And great response across a wide audio spectrum from low bass frequencies to high. Your mixes will turn out well. Also very pleasant just for listening. It says I can compare with similar gear. I was using the AKG K-77 with "semi-open" back. These, the Tascam with closed back sound just as good but the ear pads are softer so less ear fatigue over time. And the AKG has the small 7mm plug standard. I had to buy the 1/4 adapter and it's just a push-on. Both have the wire on one side only. That's a pro touch also. I had some old Yamaha that had wires to both sides. That gets tangled. These are great. And there are 2 of them. One for a friend. Oh, almost forgot to mention the very long cord. What is it? 3 meter? Nearly 10 feet long.

Bought a pair of these as SDOD (and a few pennies higher than current price!) on March 8, 2014. By April 24, one headphone set had completely lost the left channel. I had used it exactly twice!
Based on my experience of TASCAM [TH-02 headphones; US 144-MK11 digital interface; DR-05 handheld digital recorder; TM-ST1 stereo microphone) products seems to be hit-or-miss. Some items feel cheaply made, others don't.
These TH-200X headphones are among the cheaply made products. There's a thin, insulated but exposed wire that carries the signal from the input cable to each ear piece. Seems to invite physical failure from every-day use.

Comments about TASCAM TH-200X Pro Studio Headphones (2-Pack):

These are clearly designed to appear similar to Sony's 7506 model. To compare them to that, would clearly be unfair. These are entirely plastic, have a straight cable an do not sound as good.

      BUT....

They do have a nice screw on style adapter, they do sound good with a slight scooped sound. The low mids are a little boomy and the high mids are a bit scarce. The highs are fairly clean and seem pleasing. They seem to pass volume at an acceptable level. I wouldn't mix on these but they aren't bad.

My overall impression of these phones is that while on sale, they are an exceptional value. It's not going to kill you if a guitarist leaves them on the ground and steps on them when they cost about the same as a drum head or two.

I am using 4 pair in my studio for musicians to track with and for that, they work very well. Good isolation, acceptable sound quality and fairly disposable. Also, it's good to note that while I prefer coiled cables, the straight cable on these seems fairly rugged and quite long. The molded jacks may short out eventually but replacing them with a more quality connector when they do would be an easy mod.

Use these in home studio. Needed additional headphones for multiple singers, also good for overdubbing. Great for one man studio. Clear enough to get all the details of what is already there while I work on other parts. Haven't tried them yet for final mix down. Comfortable and stay in place while playing.

These phones are an excellent bargain (I bought them on a Stupid Deal of the Day). I was going to use them for mixing and for live vocal monitoring off an aux send from my mixer. The tone is not well balanced, with a bit too much muddy, indistinct bass and unclear highs. So, not helpful for mixing. They are adequate for vocalist monitoring while rehearsing when I send the vocalist a separate mix on an aux send.

One of the best deals, these headphones are a wonderful value, high quality at a very fair price point.

I only rate this 4 star because I have used 5 star headphones - and they cost a lot more and really I'd give these 4 and a half stars if possible.

Wanted a good quality headphone for practicing guitar, bass, keys, etc and saw these. For the money, figured I'd give them a try. They are amazing! Extremely high quality. The best? No, but without going broke for a set of cans, these things are really, really good. I've used them for all of the above, as well as mixing, and general use. Really nice tonal response, good reproduction across all ranges.
