I've had my X-9 for nearly 2 years now. It's been to numerous live shows, and has been used and abused by myself and my friends in my studio. The first time I used one, the variety of buttons and knobs were intimidating. After getting to know the way it works, I wouldn't want to own anything else. I love this product and would recommend it to anyone who takes EDM seriously. I'm somewhat surprised that this hasn't replaced the overrated DJM 600 in the club and underground scene.
It is the best thing to happen since the turntable. I was skeptical to spend the 1200 when it first came out but it is worth every penny. I used to go through crappy mixers and faders in about a month the x9 has lasted close to a year now and still sounds clean. i have never had to replaced a fader. I used to have to use external effects and samplers to do the same thing the x9 does all in one box. skrew the rest get the Tascam.
I've owned mine for close to 3 years now, and although the my initial intimidation almost made me think I was "in over my head" & thought of taking it back, I have grown to love this mixer more than any other out on the market today. Even with the launch of Pioneer's DJM 1000, it looks like it still holds it's own...especially at it's current price. The ability to tweak tracks is abundant with the effects and parametric eq, as well as the 2 onboard samplers. This is THE mixer for club djs who want flexibilty in mixing. Hands down, my favorite!
Although this mixer board by far out does the competition for features, it has it's down falls too. The sampler is awsome, you can loop and reverse your samples, and theres TWO! The effects you have to pre program in the board "different programing for different BPM's" But why would you put a perametric eq on a DJ mixer? A dj would never need this option due to the fact that dj's play back already mastered music. This mixer is ground breaking, but at the same time tascam should have perfected it first.
