From reading previous reviews it seems some people have had some noise problems with the TC. I however have had no issues, and I am totally satisfied. I actually bought a second one, and relegated my Lexicon mx200 to the practice room. I have owned a band pa system for 20+ years and have gone through many effects processors such as DeltaLabs, Alesis', DODs, DigiTeks, Lexicons etc... the TCs however are among my favorites, and I've used them for about 5 years now. Unlike the Lexicon, the TCs, and owners manuals are extremely user friendly. As I said,I own the PA, but I play in the band so we hire different people to mix the sound board, some are professional, some are not, so user friendly rules! I'm old school, and always prefer nobs, and buttons to a menu such as the Lexi had and ease of operation is where the TCs really have the edge.(I had an older Lexi which had virtually no nobs, thus relied almost totally on a rather complicated menu, but it appears the newer ones may have added some controls?) I really like the smooth TC reverb, and tap Echo. Though the Lexi, and others I've used had great sound, in the real world I believe the TCs are at least as good or better. At the sound board I use a Y out of an effects send to each TC, and return each (one for reverb, and one for echo)thru a spare channel, and use the sliders to add the effect back to the mix. I also use an older analog Effectron for a doubler. Love my TCs!

Didn't buy this from MF but I am a MF customer and others should know some things about this unit. The whole reason I bought it was for the control software so I could use it like a VST or AU in a DAW. But - nasty surprises out of the box.

1. Control software doesn't ship in the box. The manual makes no mention whatever of this feature. You have to go hunting on their support site.

2. It was easy to find the download, but the instructions were shocking: "First you need to update your M350 firmware to a newer version, as this is required in order for the control software work with your M350 unit." "Disclaimer: The M350 firmware upgrade can only be done using a PC running Windows."

I use Mac. So I can't use the feature I bought the unit for! LAME! Tech specs should say this up front! Then, insult to injury: "We have only tested it under Windows XP, but it may also work under other versions of Windows." Unbelievably LAME! XP is dead. Nobody I know has XP. So I can't count on being able to upgrade the firmware, so I can' count on being able to do what I bought it to do. But it gets worse.

You have to update the firmware via a midi interface. They only list a few they say will work (not mine). They give a URL to an updated list of midi interfaces. You gotta copy/paste the URL (LAME!) and when you do it's a dead link (LAME LAME!!).

It gets worse. There's a link to get a control software license. It leads to some other website... to a dead URL!!!

It's been a long time since I've run into something so thoroughly LAME LAME LAME!! The effects are OK given the price, and the controls are pretty easy to figure out and use. But if you want to use this as a VST/AU in your DAW running on Mac, forget it. Bad as their support site is, maybe forget it anyway.

Comments about TC Electronic M350 Reverb and Effects Processor:

I have been using this processor for more than 10 years in my guitar rig. I often move it from my rack rig to use with my guitar head instead. I finally got tired of moving it around and bought another. I have probably used this processor at 400 gigs and even more rehearsals. I have used it as sort of an attenuator so tame some of my louder amps. I turn the level down and my amps up a bit. Works well for me in that way. Having the ability to select a reverb and a delay does away with the need for those pedals. The range of adjustment is very wide and useful. The only time I have ever had an issue was if I leave it powered up for weeks at a time: it seems to lock up once in a while, so I powered it off and back on and it has worked perfectly each time after that.

I now have two and will be using them often. I wouldn't waste my money on something that is unreliable or has poor quality effects. On several occassions over the years I have been told I have a really grea live sound. I attribute most of those compliments to having great effects.

Buy one, you will not be sorry.

Comments about TC Electronic M350 Reverb and Effects Processor:

This effects unit sounds good and seems to be well built. The front panel is hard to read and has very few indicator lights, this makes this unit hard to use in dim lighting. Only two effects can be used at a time. I am using this in the effects loop of my guitar amp and it does sound good but is not easy to program.

Comments about TC Electronic M350 Reverb and Effects Processor:

Totally blows away high priced plugins. So far sounds great on vocals, bass, keys etc in recording process.

Love how you can use either delay or reverb alone or blend together. The compressor is decent and the de-esser comes in handy for vocals.

This really is a high end unit for not a bad price. I was expecting some junky sounding stuff with a few usuable setting for the price but this thing really does the trick and is tweakable. There's really not a bad setting on it.

Do yourself a favor and pick one up, you won't be sorry. Oh yeah, no noise either.

      Disappointing

      By Kettch19

      from Minnesota

Comments about TC Electronic M350 Reverb and Effects Processor:

This unit was quite disappointing once racked up. The effects were pretty average, but for the money about what you would expect. The major problem is with line noise from the unit...this thing emits a hiss like you wouldn't believe, to the point that it makes it impossible to get a useful level of effects without almost drowning it out with hiss. None of our other effects units have ever made noise, but this one is just ridiculous.

      Nice features, but freezes

      By BC4252

      from Canada

Comments about TC Electronic M350 Reverb and Effects Processor:

I've had my TCElectronics M350 for a month, using it in an amp effects loop. Features are basic, but nice for the price. Unfortunately, it freezes often when changing presets (between songs) Sometimes I can turn it off and on again to fix it (by unplugging it). But I've had to do a complete reset a couple times now, which erases any user presets. By the way, there are NO factory presets other than "point all the dials to 12:00 position".

      Great inexpensive entry level effects

      By deltablues2012

      from California

Comments about TC Electronic M350 Reverb and Effects Processor:

The M350 is the easiest to use FX module on the market. There are 12 Reverbs and 12 Delays giving you a total of 144 Presets. There is no need to remember which number is which effct program, just turn the Reverb and Delay dials to your desired selection, and it is automatically one of the 144 factory Presets. If you like, you can tweak the effect parameters from the front panel dials and save your adjustments to a User Preset. Of course, then you need to remember what you did. I have an M350 and a FireworX. It seems to me that TC Electronic likes to combine a Phaser type delay with a Modulation/ Reverb in quite a few of their factory Presets. The Phaser plus Reverb setting on the M350 sounds quite close to many of the fancy Presets on the FireworX. So if you are on a budget and want to get a taste of the TC Electronic effects style, insert the M350 into your effcts loop. I bought the M350 because I was curious and wanted to have an inexpensive FX module on hand just in case.

      Noisy little guy

      By BBrecords

      from Rockville, MD

Comments about TC Electronic M350 Reverb and Effects Processor:

Lots of good effects, and a good sound, very flexable. HOWEVER...a signal path is only as strong as its weakest link and this is one weak link. I run everything through top-of-the-line gold plated cables and still can not get rid of the perpetual background hiss. In the recording rack, it was fair, and when playing guitar on clean it's good, but any overdrive at all and you may wish you spent a bit more money. None the less, I gig with it and it fairs well. I suppose it's a fine product over all.
