OVERVIEW

A floor-based vocal processor that provides jaw-dropping vocals with enhanced mic pre amp, double the looping memory, and special presets.

The VoiceLIve 2 Extreme Edition is a limited release that pushes aspects of the product to the max on quality and features. The VoiceLive 2 floor-based vocal processor from TC Helicon makes it easier to lead your own vocal backup group while sounding rich and authentically human at the same time. It starts with a guitar, MIDI keyboard, or aux-input controlled vocal harmony algorithm with four intervals, each of which can be unison-doubled, or 8 discrete voices controlled by your MIDI keyboard playing. And when you want to tap into your gospel soul, VoiceLive 2 effects pedal gives singers a Choir algorithm that creates the massive multi-voice group vocal sound to bring home those classic choruses. The Extreme Edition gives you an enhaned Mic Pre amp with increased transparency, double the looping memory, special presets via VoiceSupport, and an extruded aluminum blue casing with artist-inspired graphics.

Exciting new vocal harmony capability
Now it’s easier than ever to lead your own vocal backup group and sound rich and authentically human at the same time. It starts with a guitar, MIDI keyboard, or aux-input controlled vocal harmony algorithm with four intervals, each of which can be unison-doubled or 8 discrete voices controlled by your MIDI keyboard playing. When you want to tap into your gospel soul, there’s the completely new Choir algorithm that creates the massive multi-voice group vocal sound to bring home those memorable choruses.

Vocal effects pedal with more automatic features
When you're worrying about parameter settings, you spend less time focusing on your music. So when TC Helicon set out to build VoiceLive 2, they automated several of its features.

•Auto Mic—Gain Set the mic gain from a standing position just by singing. Once this is done there are no knobs to be jostled in transit and you can still do manual tweaks if you feel you'd like to.
•Auto Gate—Feedback a problem? An all-new Auto Gate listens to you and adjusts to reduce feedback and effects leak-through while you're not singing.
•Adaptive Tone—A single push of the Tone button engages studio-quality Shape EQ, compression, and de-essing that adapts to the tonal range of your singing style and voice for increased impact and smoothed dynamics. Finally, your live singing can have that studio polish.
•Reverb and Delay—ducking Increase the sustaining tail of your reverb and delay effects while carving out plenty of room for your lyrics with ducking. The level of the effects is reduced while you sing and then subtly increases after your last syllable for a paradoxical deeper ambience with enhanced intelligibility. Of course, this is all automatic—just select a ducking reverb or delay style, and VoiceLive 2 does the rest.

A vocal effects powerhouse
All the processing power in VoiceLive 2 is available simultaneously to take your voice, your performances, and your music over the top. In addition to vocal harmony, you can construct or select preset effect chains containing effects to:

•Distort your voice—Grunge is good. Make a statement with the Transducer block that also has 4 pole filters for great megaphone and telephone effects.
•Clone your voice—Employ up to 4 voices of humanized unison overdubs in addition to the harmony voices. This sound has been used since recording began to fatten vocals. Now it's your turn.
•Expand your space—A completely new reverb algorithm envelops your voice in dense ambiances from teeny live rooms to concert halls and bright plate simulations. Don't forget the delay block can serve to add depth or become a highlight effect whether it's using tap tempo or tape delay styles.
•Mod ya later—The full μMod block brings lush chorus, slick microtuning, swooshing flange, and more to the party. Those half-time bridge sections never sounded more psychedelic.
All-new Mic Control feature
The revolutionary Mic Control circuit is built into each VoiceTone single pedal. This allows the thumb switch on the TC-Helicon’s MP-75 Modern Performance Vocal microphone (sold separately) to turn your VoiceTone single’s effect on and off. Picture having the freedom to kick-in your vocal effect while working the stage, not gazing at your feet. It gets really cool when you chain multiple VoiceTone singles pedals together and control each one independently or turn them all on or off in combination.

Random access
Having a large chain of effects won't do as much good if you can't add and remove links in the chain when the mood strikes. The individual stompbox footswitches for Harmony, Doubling, μMod, Reverb, Delay, and FX give you the flexibility to layer or simplify at will. Also, there's a Shortcut footswitch that can be assigned to add other interesting features such as tap tempo, harmony hold, and others. There is no separation between Song mode and Preset mode as there was in the original VoiceLive; each preset can have up to 50 steps each of which can contain a different preset or a simple modification of the main preset. Go ahead, get dirty, and start creating now.

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition:

I have been using the Voicelive 2 Extreme Edition for 6 months now. It works great. All you have to do is connect it and it gives great harmonies. But if you want to adjust it to your own preferences, you can go really deep and wide. It is musical, versatile, user friendly. Musicians Friends' price was the best I could find anywhere. Service was quick and excellent as always.

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition:

I think the quantity of presets are a bit overkill. I've found in order to have the harmonies I like that sound real I must use only the basic settings. Haven't tried looping. It can be difficult if you have a huge selection of music to get it right. Sound levels for live play (harmonies) are a bit tricky.

      Extreme-ly excellent (for vocal effects)!!!

      By David Isackson

      from Sydney Australia

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition:

The fact that the looper is not good enough, dropped my rating down. For the vocal effect it would get a 9, for the looper it gets a 4. So the average is 7.
Pros: unbelievable vocal effects. The Harmonies are just incredible. For a vocal processing unit, this is the ducks guts !

Cons: I bought it for the vocal effects but mostly for the VLoop looper function. Unfortunately the looper is very basic and doesn't really cut it in a live situation. I have now purchased a Boss RC-300 for the looper functions and using the Voicelive 2 extreme just for vocal effects. The loop function was a software addittion after the product was developered so I guess you shouldn't expect too much. The issues with the looper are: only single track, all loop functions run off a single button, the button isn't in a good spot and the STOP function requires pressing the button twice. Also, there is no loop quantize so it is really hard to get the loops to start and stop at the exactly right time.
Quality seems very good. Should last a live situation pretty well.

The VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition Is The Best Purchase That I've Made So Far!

      By Andy

      from North Carolina

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition:

I would say overall this unit is well worth the purchase. I have a deep voice and I was concerned about the sound quaily that it would give me on the harmonies and now I have to say! I think I get a better sound than the guy and the girl that you hear in all of the videos doing the demos. I'm really pleased with this unit and would recommend this unit to anyone that needs to beef up their sound!
The Features on this unit knocked me out! There are around 205 preset variations for your voice. You can also tweak these sounds too just about about any configurations that you may need. It also has a built a built in tunner for your instrument so that you know your going to be on key with this unit. (Works best with an electric guitar!) I did have a hard time finding out out how to use the loop capabilities. It's very simple but there are no videos and nothing in the manual about this? They say it's a new added function post dates the manual. Anyway, I'm actually using this unit on my home recordings and Wow! What a difference! Now I sound like I can actually sing for a change LOL.
This unit is built tough! The aluminum body and the stomp switches look like they can take the abuse that it will take from the hundreds of hours of use it will receive. I'm pretty happy with the quality of this machine over all.
I'm sure that the price is in line with other effect units on the market. The only problem this unit is in it's own class, so it's not like this unit has much competition. Over all it's worth the bucks!

      VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition

      By Jesse Zamora

      from Virginia Beach, VA

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition:

I like all the feature. Too many to state. I highly recommend this product to all singers.
This pedal is amazing. Just the tone alone produces such warmth to my voice. Once you adjust the harmony to a more natural sound, the harmony sounds realistic. I can't really describe how great this pedal because its just soo much to put into words. This pedal has been one of the best purchases I've ever made for myself. Hehehe
Quality is fantastic. The extreme edition not only looks amazing, it attracts attention. The build quality is solid. Great Job TC-Helicon
Worth getting. If you are a singer, this pedal is a must.

I like it a lot for live performance

      By Robert Olander

      from Phoenix AZ

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition:

I am not going into this unit deep because so many people already have done that for the VoiceLive 2. Here I want to just address the question, should I get this unit or the VoiceLive 2 (not Extreme Edition). I would get this unit if you were waffling between the VoiceLive 2 or VoiceLive 2 Extreme Edition. The VoiceLive 2 has been around a couple years. This unit takes that field tested technology and adds a couple things its predecessor did not have. Basically they are the same unit except this has a better Mic Pre amp (much better for recording) and twice the looping memory...and it looks better in my opinion. I was concerned because the original box has upgrades available this box does not. I called support and those upgrades are needed because the original box has 2 year old technology. This one didn't need them because they were already included.
Has all the bells and whistles you could ever want. They are not terribly intuitive to locate or use, but they are there. I was able to lose my vocal effect rack and just go with this unit in live performances. The built in effects are good enough to cover my EQ, limiter, compressor and BBE sonic maximizer. The reverb, delay, doublers and harmony features are top shelf effects.
It is not rugged like my TC Electronics guitar effect unit, but it is built well and is good looking. Everything is where you would expect to find it. Definitely get a decent carrying case or bag for it. I thought "something" would come with it, and it doesn't.
Good value for the money. You could not approach this quality of sound for anywhere near the money by building out a rack yourself. Its ease of use in live gigs and cost make it really good value.
