Hands down, this is the best harmony generator in it's class. With in 1 hr of unpacking the voiceworks I was recording an accapella version of the Beach Boys "In My Room". The sound is incredible. Beware - you will need the foot switch to really take advantage of the full power this can offer. My only complaint - is the manual. The printing format is a little hard to follow. You end up missing important notes or facts ... and later go back and say .... Oh ... it DOES say something about that ..... It's hard to read.Read the hands on review here and remember for some tips on use. TC Helicon Voiceworks is almost too powerfull. There are a lot of parameters to tinker with. But that doesn't diminish the product in any way. All that is needed is a better "how to use it" guide and it would be perfectThe vocal results are near perfect and make it a great purchase. One note: It really would have been helpfull for TC to provide a beginners "how to use" DVD to show how to get in and out of the various functions with out experimenting.

Before I purchased the VoiceWorks, I did what I thought was my due diligence researching the pros and cons. Overall, the reviews appeared positive, aside from the difficulty in programming which I expect from most effects modules, so I bought it. What surprised me was how quickly the module failed. I had two modules in a row with operational defects. The first module made intermittent loud digital static popping sounds that would spike my VU meters. I tried balanced cables (although the user manual said regular mono cables should work fine), line conditioning to ensure steady power, different mics, even NO mic at all. Still popped. I returned the defective module in exchange for another VoiceWorks. The second unit failed within 5 minutes of use. This time, it simply froze; no sound, no ability to scroll through presets, all I could do was power down. Powering up again, it worked fine...for 5 minutes, then froze again. After the 2nd power down the unit screeched horribly loud static noise. Needless to say, I returned it. It would appear TC Helicon has some problems either with their chipsets or software that should be addressed immediately. Failures like this, especially during a recording session, is unacceptible. Sorry guys, I'm going with Digitech next.

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceWorks Vocal Processor:
I like the features, get the foot switch makes life alot easier, howere one can use a midi foot control board to change presets as well, great for adding harmonies.
Great features takes a little time to use and figure out but if you put in the time great results, Have owned one for about 8 to 10 years
Have owned one for 10 years and just had a problem with the mic. input, bought a restocked one
got a " Restocked" should of been labeled damaged the Data Wheel malfunctions frequently, seems like someone bent or damaged it, it works some of the time but not like it should, remember I have had this product and know what the data wheel should be doing.

i like this lil addition to my studio i can now do harmonies without adding extra people in my studio. great little tool for demos and other cool stuff. still experimenting with the other settings but overall i love the presets. great for blues rock and other stuff. can't wait for the next generation processor that comes out.
Comments about TC Helicon VoiceWorks Vocal Processor:
Unreliable. Bought new to learn and test it having 2 weeks ahead of the scheduled session with my songwriter. Day 1 - impressive! Day 2 - unit is down: no response to data wheel changes. Workaround: use midi interface and control the unit from pc. Works fine, but strange. Tech support suggests to reload software or send it for repairs. Soft reloaded. No improvement. Day 3 - trying to use digital in/out to play with previously recorded tracks. Works for 5-10 minutes then totaly gets frozen. Just display turns on/off when power button is pressed. Day 4 - packed the unit and returned.

I've only had this unit a short while and there is still a lot I need to figure out BUT I can see a huge potential. The factory presets are, on the whole, over stated in their delivery but the effect is AWESOME! The harmonies that I fooled with so far could easily be used as an over dub for a vocal track with just a few adjustments. If you are close to the correct note with the pitch correction, you can't here it correct the note. The thickening feature is nice as well. Only time will tell for sure but I'm thinking if you invest enough time, this thing will be a KILLER EFFECT! Getting the right blend of lead over harmony will take some fiddling around with but once you get it dialed to your style its gonna make you smile!
Comments about TC Helicon VoiceWorks Vocal Processor:
It?s absolutely awesome. I wish someone would write a book outlining all of its features and the uses there are but absolutely tremendous piece of studio equipment.
Comments about TC Helicon VoiceWorks Vocal Processor:
Unbelievable quality and value!!! I will skip repeating all the fantastic features of this and offer some advice for those having trouble with it. As great as the VoiceWorks is, I found nearly all of the presets that ship with it completely useless. My suggestion is that if you buy a VoiceWorks, expect to spend a great deal of time dialing it in with patches that work for your personal style. For example, to start with, I suggest that you setup any global effects first. Then, work on banks of patches sorted by song key next. With a little investment of time tweaking along with a basic understanding of music theory, the VoiceWorks really can produce clean natural pitch correction, thickening, and harmonies. Though, as the negative reviews have pointed out, don?t expect to just plug it in and go. Still, after a year of serious use now, I sincerely rank the VoiceWorks as the best piece of music gear that I own. Buy one, spend some time with it, and I guarantee your vocals will sound 10 times better!

Completely amazing piece of equipment !!!! Even if you CAN'T sing I don't think anyone could tell after singing through this unit !!!! Easy to use, INCREDIBLE SOUND !!!! Top notch in every aspect. Comments about TC Helicon VoiceWorks Vocal Processor:
We read all the reviews before purchasing the Voiceworks for our all-digital studio. Anyone who complained about it obviously didn't know how to use it. This has been the most usefull tool for us and it sounds amazing. It first sounded like crap and it took an hour to figure out what it was.... shut off the EQ. After that it sounded warm and created perfect vocal tracks. I think that might have been the problems I had read about sounding crappy. If you purchase one I suggest you do the same when you first start out.
