Foldable, closed-back headphones featuring natural surround sound.
Foldable Ultrasone PRO 650 Surround Sound Stereo Headphones boast closed backs for enhanced performance with handsome aluminum nameplates that add eye appeal. Ultrasone includes a PRO Box for safe headphone transportation and storage with extra room for your audio accessories. The technology used in the phones includes S-Logic Natural Surround Sound, and MU Metal shielding (ULE-technology) for safer listening.
The Ultrasone PRO Box accompanying the PRO 650 headphones includes 2 detachable cables and a spare pair of earpads. The easy-to-change earpads use speed-switch technology to make changes simple.
As with all Ultrasone PRO headphone models, the PRO 650 surround phones' detachable cables make it easy to choose the cable you prefer. PRO 650 stereo headphones are armed with high-class gold-plated drivers. PRO 650 headphones also offer a spectacular open 3-dimensional balanced sound image with a maximum of transparancy.
Ultrasone ULE-technology and PRO design
Ultrasone PRO headphones boast Ultra Low Emission (ULE) technology with significant benefits for professional users. Ultrasone PRO headphones also have a unique design. The PRO appearance not only distinguishes the Ultrasone professional headphone line but also creates a higher degree of audio transparency, spatial sense, and understanding, due to the greater coverage of the ear.
To understand what ULE-technology does, you need to know that most headphone drivers produce low-frequency magnetic fields as they convert an electric signal into an acoustical signal that you hear as music. Ultrasone developed the special MU Metal shielding (ULE-technology) to reduce the magnetic radiation by up to 98% compared to other headphones.
Ultrasone ULE-technology has stood the test of international review and is recommended by technical surveillance organizations. Ultrasone originally developed ULE-technology for professionals, as they spend half of their lives wearing headphones. But due to popular requests, ULE-technology has now been integrated in other Ultrasone headphone lines.
Ultrasone S-Logic Natural Surround Sound
Ultrasone S-Logic Natural Surround Sound technology makes the usual headphone sound seem moved out of the head into the room around you. The sound is no longer locked in, but appears broad and detached. Directions and distances can be heard and perceived”just like being in a live concert. Additional equipment is not required for this Ultrasone technology. With just a pair of Ultrasone PRO 650 headphones and your sound device you'll be fully equipped for 3-dimensional sound enjoyment.
S-Logic not only creates natural surround sound, at the same time it reduces sound pressure levels by up to 40% (3-4 dB) for the same perceived loudness. This may reduce the risk of hearing damage while ensuring hours of fatigue-free listening. However, Ultrasone advises that you not to listen to music at high volumes to prevent hearing damage.

These are great for mix downs. They are not a headphone I would use for recording. They sound like crap coming off a line level mic out. This will over drive the headphones on the bass end and cause a crackle. My advice is don't use them unless your going thru a mixer.
