ITS FOR SKRATCHING! Thats what it was designed for. Vestax wasn't so much worried about the fidelity etc. but how it would perform for the skratch dj. This mixer has super smooth faders and is all laid out perfectly for the skratch dj. The effects loop is a wonderful idea and puts the icing on the cake. just look at the huge list of pro battle dj's using this mixer, it speaks for itself. So if you want to mix in a club, don't, its boring. Be creative and start skratching with this mixer!
This is a damn good mixer, i love it. The only problem with it is its really only good for scratching and battling. It works wonderful for someone just getting into mixing, but if your gonna be a bedroom dj or a house party dj, then you might have to move up to something a little more. As much as i love my pmc05, im thinking about moving up to a pioneer 909 for all my mixing and scratching needs. Great mixer, no doubt though.
this is one of the best mixers out there hands down, from the price to the features it is just a top quality item that should be considered weather your a new or a seasoned dj, I have mixed with it just fine, the sounds is great to me (im not picky) the faders are butter and last forever (they love you long time). The new silver face plate sets it off and looks great paired up with almost any nice table. In short, get this mixer, you wont be disapointed.
This mixer is for the DJ who needs to hone his scratching skills. The fader is durable and smooth. For mobile DJ use, the eq on this machine is not very good. Compared to the 07, or the Mackie battle mixer, the clarity is a joke. BUT, if you're looking to hone your skills on the crossfader and need to scratch better, this is where you will learn. And that is what this mixer is built for. Its a good buy for the beginner turntablist or as an at home practice mixer. Just remember that if you're looking to be a club DJ, most clubs use an abused Rane or Pioneer 19" mixer. So tapping your Vestax fader will be 180 degrees from what you'll use in a nightclub. This is a waste for Table Top CD player DJs, you'll lose so much clarity that you can get from a Rane, Pioneer, 07, 08, or Mackie battle mixer.
