After some bad experiences with other wireless mics I decided to go with the VocoPro UHF-5800 for my DJ system because sometimes I need multiple mics for announcing. I am impressed with this system's range and lack of dropouts. The mics have a rubberized grip and they are light and comfortable. And the system comes in a very nice aluminum case (a feature not mentioned). My only gripe is the quality of the mic tonality which seems a little hollow and not as natural sounding as a Shure SM58 or other quality dynamic mic. I expected that, but a little EQ helps and for my use (wedding toasts, standup speeches, etc.) it's perfect. This system would probably work for karoake singers too but serious pros might want to get something with better mics. Tonality is the only reason this system does not get 5 stars across the board, but many people will love the sound... I know what mics are supposed to sound like, that's all.Because the four mic channels can be routed through a single output, it's a breeze to set the EQ just once on my mixer and forget it. Since my DJ inputs are limited, having a four mic system on just one channel is handy. Or I can route any single mic to it's own effects/EQ. Comes with a wall wart instead of an internal power supply... I always deduct half a point for that.I'll be using rechargeable batteries with my UHF-5800 (use the 2500ah batteries for best results). This system is a great value for many applications like DJ, karaoke, bingo, or other non-critical vocal uses and I recommend it. The aluminum carry case alone is worth $75 and I didn't know it was part of the deal !

One of the outputs in the back has not worked since about a week out of the box. I have owned the system now for about 6 mos and only 1 mic is working properly. One died completely another goes in and out of its volume, the 3rd, well truth is I don't use that one becuz the back of the board is broken, so it won't work. so basically I am down to 1 microphone. It is a shame, becuz I find the sound to be good and little squelching problems too. but it is a very iffy product. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you can be sending it back n forth for repair.

Awsome for the price

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System:

Just got it yesterday. Incredible quality for this price. Vocal reproduction is better than any of my wired mics. Specs say 40-16Mhz and I believe it. Solid metal case, mics are solid metal mesh head, plastic body but coated with that softish rubber. Wicked solid. One receiver module stopped receiving or the mike stopped sending (haven't figured out which yet) after only about 5 minutes operation. Buddy has a UHF scanner so I'm going to use it to see if it is the mike or receiver module that has failed. Am calling the manufacturer for a replacement and a spare. In spite of this you still can not beat the price. We do a lot of karaoke parties at home. Will likely grab another 5800 down the road. 4 wireless mics just aren't enough. I have been reading that there isn't any significant difference in performance between UHF and VHF (other than UHF generally has fewer people using it and so less risk of interference). I'm wondering if maybe the VHF version might be more robust though. It certainly is cheaper.

Don't Bother

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System:

Right out of the box, one mic did not work. Returned it for another one, and the second one worked for about a week before one of the mics started going in & out. Decided to give it one more try. Returned it for a third one, and right out of the box again, one mic did not work. The price is great, but the quality is awful. The sound is nothing to brag about either. You can get the same sound quality from a Nady system.

UHF5800

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System:

Sounded good while it worked-
I purchased this for my Karaoke and Entertainment business- I have never used it. The bartender at one of my jobs is the only one to use it and that was lightly. It worked fine for a few months and now-it's dead. I had purchased two of these and one came in broken with a bad receiver. Now I think this one has the same issue. No power to the unit. I think these are poorly made.

Super Product

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System:

My church purchased a set of these Voco Pro UHF 5800 mikes at the prompting of a fellow pastor who had bought them for his church. I was very pleased to find that they were all I had hoped, and more. The sound quality is great, and the price is incredible. The only trouble I have had was the same as many others, the yellow mike went out after a one time of use. Still that was no problem, Voco Pro had me to send the mike back (the other three still work without the yellow one installed) and they sent me a new mike and componant. It has worked great since. We use them for preaching, singing, and testimony time. It works excellent for all. You wont be dissapointed with this purchase.

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System:

Got this thing for Christmas and was very doubtful because of its very low price. Surprise!! The sound is excellent and the range is far beyond my needs. I had trouble with channel three cutting off after about five or ten minutes but I removed the module, cleaned the contacts and it has worked great since then. It sure is nice to not have to fool around with mic cords anymore. I use the UHF-5800 with a Bose Personal Amplification system and the sound is perfect. It has allowed our singers to move around the stage and go into the audience while performing. (Audience loves it.)

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System:

We have a gospel group and I purchased 2 sets of the UHF-5800's. I simply love the sound quality of the mics. I have never experienced much feed back from them. Because of the price I am thinking of purchasing two more sets for back up. I really don't think I will need to but you can't beat the quality, sound or price of these babies.

Pleasantly, and highly surprised

By Apostolic

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System:

The UHF5800 is the best bargain I've run across in a long time. The platform at our church uses 8 microphones and 3 direct inputs from instruments so we needed relief from cord clutter. We ordered the first unit simply based on the very affordable price, but because of the low price, did not expect high sound quality. After using the 1st unit for one service, I ordered unit #2 immediately following the service. Use the mics like the manual says, and the quality is excellent. The proximity effect of the unidirectional mics is a beautiful thing. Our pulpit mic is a hand held wireless Shure SM58. The Vocopro mics are right there with the Shure as far as quality of sound. Plus the AA batteries last longer and are cheaper than the 9 volts used in the Shure. No extra noise whatsoever from the mics and/or receivers. Furthermore, in order to try the mics for the 1st time, we used the 1/4" unbalanced cord included with the unit to go to a single channel on our board, and did the level mixing at the receiver unit. Surprised again! The tone was just fine for all the mics once we set the levels for each singer. 8 mics, two channels used up on the mixing board! We will more than likely, in the future, hook them up on separate channels just to tweak the tone and see if we get any better control for each mic. Common sense says each mic in a separate channel will give you much more tone control, but judging from their present performance, I can confidently say, "that really isn't necessary". We are very satisfied with the overall quality and performance of the UHF5800.

Voco Pro

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5800 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System:

I purchased for our church and it's really easy to install just pull and play. The sound quality really enhanced our ability to use multi-mics without the feedback from other wireless devices. This is really nice wirless system, no batteries to fool with and the charge would last about 8-10 hours before needing to be recharged.
