Keep the karaoke party going nonstop!

The VocoPro UHF-5805 Rechargeable Wireless Microphone system is a great way to keep up the excitement of karaoke night at home or at the club. Rechargeable wireless system features 4 handheld mics. Each mic has its own volume control for precise vocal balancing. Wireless technology gives performers the freedom to work the crowd or to get close for those romantic duets without fear of latency or feedback. Since each microphone channel has its own field-replaceable module that slides out with ease, you won't have to worry about affecting the functionality of the other channels.

Mic/transmitters can be recharged on the included rechargers individually or simultaneously. Now the party can go on all night without mics dying in the middle of the action. Includes receiver cable and the entire system fits into a deluxe metal road case which is also included.

Features:

The case and rechargeable cradles this system comes with are great add-on features...The Volume and Squelch controls are great features as well, I just wish they would have added a frequency scanner for each channel....I would have given a 10 if the system would have had a frequency-Scanner on it to reset or use different frequencies as far as features go....

Quality:

I purchased these for our Church and after the first week the yellow labeled mic which runs it's frequency thru channel 1 somehow changed it's freq signal and started working on channel 4 with the purple labeled mic on channel 4 and then it also only worked about 5' from the receiver after this occurred. I tried unplugging the system hoping that it might reset the frequencies back to it's factory settings in hopes the yellow labeled mic might switch back to channel 1(where it's freq signal is supposed to be) but with no success, So I called VocoPro tech support and must say, I had a very hard time understanding(due to poor English) both the operator, who finally answered after about 10-min of holding and then the technician who finally answered after about 15-min. After telling my situation, the tech just ended up telling me to send the bad module and microphone back to them(VocoPro) and they would send me a new module and microphone. I hope this doesn't turn into a nightmare and with money being tight these days we really don't have over $450.00 to just through away....of course some folks have had good luck with this system, so only time will tell.....

Value:

If not had been for the problem we had with this system just after a couple of services I would have given it a 9.....

Overall:

Had not been for the defective mic/module after a couple of uses I would have given a 9....I see that others have had simular problems with this brand. They have a great ideal for wireless microphones with the independent channels, squelch and volume control as well as the rechargeable cradle system. It would have been a jewel if it was better quality and also have a frequency scanner(I think they have one on their new version).....

UHF-5805 Rechargeable Wireless Microphone System Good AND BAD

| Review By: Lisa D. Elder | 3 months, 3 weeks ago

Features:

I love the fact that you use just one mic output from the mixer, leaving the other three for DJ and Headset.

Quality:

Um, this is a confusing one: Quality. The sound quailty is good. I rarely have a singer over 15-20 feet away but still the mic's will cut out. I'm writing about my second set (the first was stolen.. long story, employee left in his car!), Anyway, the first set never cut out, even when walking around the club (fairly large club). But mic #2 stopped working altogether, just hissing noise, I sent it back to Vocopro and they returned it to me quickly with a note saying there was nothing wrong with it! It worked fine until it was stolen about 3 weeks later. Now, the second set I've had about 4 months and all four mics do the cutting out thing... mic #2 again quit working last sunday (hissing sound like the first set). If it weren't for the good price and convienency of one mic output, I wouldn't have bought the second set. It's too bad that VocoPro has good ideas and design but their quality and reliability suck! (BTW, we have a VocoPro Mixer/CDG player unit that has had problems since day one. It's EQ is just 5 knobs so sound is very hard to control and of 4 mic outputs just 2 still work... we can't take the system out of service to get this fixed and it's not a user friendly repair.)

Value:

Value is hard to rate since the price is good, the sound quality is acceptable but the reliability just isn't there. I have a beringer mic that has never had a problem and it's at least 5 years old. It wasn't a high dollar one either. I wish they would put out a 4 mic system! My advice to others: It's up to you, take a chance and maybe you'll get a system that will be trouble free. But for me... 2 systems, both have/had problems.. not good odds.

Overall:

Again, Good design, Good price, Decent sound, BAD reliability. Vocopro service was good. But I'd rather not have to send something back 4 months in.

Use for church choir

We have used these mics for about 2 years now.  Over all value is good.  The price is really good considering what we have saved on batteries by them being rechargable. They do cut in and out when in certain ranges but we have been able to decipher where we can and cannot use them so that helps that problem. They are sturdy, heavy mics - more solid than other cordless mics that we have used so the quality seems to be good. They are also very convenient when our choir has gone to other places to sing, not having to take alot of mics and cords, but just taking this set of cordless and only plugging in to one channel. Overall we have been very satisfied with this set and would purchase another set if we needed to.

Not a good product

We're using this UHF-5805 in a church environment to allow commenting from the audience. We had to replace our 700MHz mics due to the frequency change over the summer. We charged these new mics up and put them on our 4' roving booms and was disappointed from day one. The pick-up is not very loud for voices, but a ring or even just sweaty hands rubbing on the boom echo through the whole hall. We tried everything to make this work. I even called VocoPro and they had no suggestions. After four months we had enough and VocoPro was very unhelpful. They said, "We have ten thousand customers and you're the only one having trouble." Also, they do cut out all of the time whether they're fully charged or not.  Very poor design. So, we're stuck buying mics from somewhere else and pitching these in the garbage.

We purchased this set of mics by a referral from other musicians.  We received them in yesterday and practiced with them for the first time last night.  From only 1 practice, they sound really clear and very powerful.  We haven't had them long enough and used them enough for me to be too accurate about the battery life.  But so far so good. I'm really excited about them.  Not to mention that the hard case that they come in is awesome! So for me, no complaints so far. I'd recommend them!!!
