OVERVIEW

With the UHF-5900, radio interference will be a thing of the past.

Tired of unexpected radio interference ruining your shows? Musicians and DJs have always had one major problem with wireless mic systems: When you go to a new location for a gig, there may be local radio interference that causes your wireless mics to malfunction.

The UHF-5900 wireless mic system solves this problem. With the frequency scan feature, you can automatically search and set to an interference free frequency! You can also change the frequency manually to one of the 150+ available frequencies.

Consumer Alert:

Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change. For more information, call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC) or visit the FCCs wireless microphone website at: www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones.

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5900 4 Microphone Wireless System with Frequency Scan:

I have been using VocoPro UHF-5800 for several years, 4 nights a week. I use them with my live band, when I DJ, and also for Karaoke gigs, (which is where they suffer the most abuse). They have held up very well through it all, and they sound good. But I wanted another set to use with them because sometimes I get groups of people that want to sing together and 4 is not enough, (plus, after years of weekly use, the original set needs some maintenance). I therefore bought the VocoPro UHF-5900 to expand my capabilities, and to use while I have one module at a time serviced. I received the UHF-5900 mics, and immediately put them to use with my live band. They all loved them, and commented that they sound even better then the 5800's we had been using with such satisfaction. Even the Karaoke people immediately picked up on the improvement in tone quality. Great buy!!! I note that the previous reviewer had experienced problems with his contact with VocoPro, and was surprised to hear this. I only had one occasion to contact them, which occurred when my power connect was going funky on me. They were extremely helpful and sent me a new one w/o charge, AND they sent it overnight. Needless to say that was a great thing to do, (from my point of view anyway). I have been a musician for over 40 years, have and still do own a variety of mics, Shure, AKG, Beyer-Dynamic, and these do hold their own, AND they're wireless. Would I recommend these to others? YES. I hope this review makes it. I wrote one before right after I received my mics and used them, but it has never shown up. I wrote this one so if you are thinking of getting a set of these you might not pass them by thinking they are a anything less than a very worthwhile product. They are a very valuable asset to me. Just sayin'.

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5900 4 Microphone Wireless System with Frequency Scan:

We got them set up in our church yesterday and used them last night. Everyone was very pleased with the clarity and volume. Also were not as heavy as I thought they might be. Will be easy to hold.

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5900 4 Microphone Wireless System with Frequency Scan:

This system is not for the working Musician or band. It will be fine for DJ use or for a meeting room where many people need to speak. I called their service department and they were surly and took way too long to get back to me. They offered no assistance and if you don't have your original sales ticket they wont talk or take a return.

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5900 4 Microphone Wireless System with Frequency Scan:

The mics were ok. We had problems so sent the entire system to vocopro. After 6 customer service calls to them they said we never sent them the receiver. They would not allow me to speak to a CS supervisor. Even if this system was awesome, I wouldn't buy it again or anything from Vocopro. Its worth the extra to go with Shure or another name brand.

5-6 Seconds Audio delay once on

        Best Uses

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5900 4 Microphone Wireless System with Frequency Scan:

One of the worst thing about this unit is that there is 5-6 second delay for the audio after it has been turned on. There is no dedicated mute button, so mic has to be turned off (for mute), when turned on, it takes 5-6 seconds for the audio to show up at the mixer! This is very annoying to the speaker/singer.

I wonder how this even got passed the QA and Product Management!

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5900 4 Microphone Wireless System with Frequency Scan:

I have been using the VocoPro UHF-5800 wireless mics for several years, both for my live band performances, as well as DJ gigs, and for karaoke nights, they have worked well, 4 nights a week for YEARS. But, they were starting to show some weariness, so I bought the UHF-5900. My fellow musicians in my band LOVED the new mics, then I used them with my karaoke crowd, everyone was excited about how responsive they are, and LOVED them. We all liked the UHF-5800, but the improvements in the UHF-5900 were obvious from the start. A little bit of a learning curve at first, (I thought they would be just like the previous ones), but very well worth it!! Not to take issue with the previous review, but my experience with the people at VocoPro was very different when I had occasion to call with a problem, (my power cord was being difficult), they IMMEDIATELY sent me a new one, FREE, OVERNIGHT!! So needless to say, I was impressed. I've been playing music, (and purchasing equipment) for over 40 years, and that is a sure way to keep a customer coming back. Must give props also to the Musician's Friend agent,(whose name escapes me), for recommending these as a worthy follow up to my UHF-5800. Tonight I was able to do an A/B test to compare them side by side. They 5800's are still fine, but the response is just so much better with the 5900's, everyone in the club could immediately hear it. Thanks VocoPro, and Thanks Musician's Friend, I love my new mics. I have lots of mics, Shure, AKG, Beyer-Dynamic, etc., and these 5900's hold their own, AND they're WIRELESS! BTW, if they hold up like their predecessors did, I'll be using these 4 nights a week, (not counting rehearsals), for years to come.

Comments about VocoPro UHF-5900 4 Microphone Wireless System with Frequency Scan:

After purchasing this item from another company and being satisfied with the first one I purchased, I recommended this item to our church when our old wireless mic system failed. The first one that I received had one mic that would work for 10 minutes and then switch to mute. I sent it back for an exchange and without being informed by Musicians Friend that the second one would be an open box, "you guessed it" Musicians Friend sent me an open box with a broken mic on my 2nd purchase. I am now waiting for Musicians Friend to refund my purchase on not one but two systems.
