Comments about XCHANGE Virtual Instrument Collection with Arturia, Cakewalk, D16 Group, Ohm Force, Steven Slate, Sugar Bytes, and UVI:

I LOVE the sounds in this bundle. My only complaint is the amount of time that it takes to install and register EACH product. If you're selling a bundle it should come with an installer that lets you batch load the instruments then and a dialog box that lets you deselect whatever you don't want like every other package on the planet. Instead you have to install and register online (with email verification) every product in the bundle one-by-one. That being said, the value is still there for sure the instruments were an instant inspiration to start writing. Just be prepared to spend 3 days getting the darn things loaded.

I read the reviews that said this product was very difficult to register but I took a chance and now I'm paying for that it's been 2 weeks now I have not been able to register the product I've been writing emails for support but no one has contacted me! If you have weeks to spend trying to register and activate the software go for it! Otherwise... I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Comments about XCHANGE Virtual Instrument Collection with Arturia, Cakewalk, D16 Group, Ohm Force, Steven Slate, Sugar Bytes, and UVI:

I agree with comments made by markeux. 5 Stars (Wonderful) for the instruments/sounds; 3 Stars (average) for the installation/registration/validation/authorization processes. Because of the number of different vendors and their varied protection schemes, it did take me about three days to get through all of the installations, registrations and authorizations. A few of the packages do require iLok licensing, but via the free downloadable iLok software, not a dongle. It is, however, worth it! Gorgeous synth sounds, modern and classic. Great sampled pianos (acoustic & electric), Steven Slate Drums and other drum toys (a virtual pad controller and a virtual TR-808). It's difficult not to just lose hours auditioning and fooling around with the presets---and there's soooo much tweaking that can be performed with the provided software/instruments. Full versions and complete acceptance by all of the vendors. All act as plugins but many also act as stand-alone instruments. A real sonic bargain, especially when on sale! A lot of gorgeous sounds and a lot of stuff for the price of just the included Slate Drums and Cakewalk Z3TA+2. I know that there are a ton of softsynths out there, many for free or cheap, but this is high-grade stuff. A tech friend of mine, who has owned and used and repaired/modified many of the classic synths, keys and pianos (yes, even the Rhodes, Yamahas and Steinways) was floored by the quality of the sounds and the design of the software. It was like watching an adult child opening a long-lost box of Pine Brothers cough drops or a Malo Cup---you could sense that nostalgic excitement (over and over and over and over again).
BTW, I'm using Windows 10 and there were no installation issues.

I too read the complaints and i'm glad i decided to buy this bundle anyways. Not only did i get everything on this list except i pretty much ignored the gobbler offer, but you get updated versions of the software. I had to contact Arturia a couple of times and after a few days they gave me updated versions of spark edm, and they gave me copies of analog lab one and two because the serials i received in this bundle for the two didn't work. The icing on the cake was this bundle shipped with a free alesis vmini midi controller that comes with air xpand!2 software synth, Yes you want this deal!

as other reviews note the installation is a pain. You register on the Xchange site and input a code from the booklet that comes in the box. Then you wait for a few days until they send you an email with a bunch of registration codes. You will have to set up accounts with each of the companies that manufactured the plugins you intend to install. For the most part you can just download the plugins from the manufacturer site, except possibly Cakewalk Z3ta2+. I installed that from the USB drive (16G) that comes in the box. Tip the Arturia reg codes are actually a serial number xxx-xxx-xxx followed by a space and then an activation code. You will need to enter these into different boxes on the Arturia site.

If you play keys this is a great deal

Comments about XCHANGE Virtual Instrument Collection with Arturia, Cakewalk, D16 Group, Ohm Force, Steven Slate, Sugar Bytes, and UVI:

I mostly play keys for pads and bass lines, and sometimes sequencing. If you don't play keys then this is still good for the Slate Drums EX, and the 2 fx. But I would recommend AD2 instead. For Keyboard players there is some great stuff. The 2 Addictive keys are worth the price by themselves. Analog lab is also great. For the UVI stuff you have to create a free ilok account and download the UVI workstation which installs the ilok software too. This is the second pack I have purchased and this time it took about 4 hours to get everything downloaded and registered. You can also download many of these products as demos so that you can make sure they work on your system.
