I haven't recorded any music since the old days of reel to reel. This machine is fantastic! It's so compact I couldn't believe it. The instruction were well written considering how complex some of these digital recorders can be. After about a week, I recorded and burned my first song. Even without much EQ etc... it sounded amazingly good. I do have one complaint, some of the onboard effects are less than perfect and sound a bit campy. I used a Voice Live for vocals and external effects for guitars. A great machine at a suprisingly low cost. I would recomend this mixer for anyone interested in making their own good music.
Umm.. Yeah those Fostex Speakers have speakon outputs, and the Yamaha AW mixer doesn't have the proper output. Nonetheless, there are 1/4" to speakon cables out there I'm sure, but it didn't come in the package. So, I blew a bunch of cash and still can't start. The gear looks nice, but I can't tell how it sounds outside headphones. Everything came nice and finally shipped, but this project will cost you more than the ticket bargain in the end, don't expect to start right away out of the box on this deal. It isn't so easy.
I bought the AW16G complete package and I think its a good deal for someone that is starting out in songwriting or just playing. The fostex monitors, mics, cords, etc.comes with everything to get started. I had no experience whatsoever in recording so it took a while to figure everything out. Yea..lots of reading and questions, but the end result is very satisfying. I still dont know how to use half the features but little by little I'm getting better. Thats why I dont think I get bored with the AW16G. I dont know if I have the BBE362 hooked up right, because I dont hear any difference either way. Its great to play your guitar or keyboards thru. I dont use my amp anymore.
