Comments about Yamaha CM500 Headset with Built-In Microphone:
I expected more from Yamaha. These phones do not fit well or stay put . There is a terrible hum coming through due to an internal short. I bought these for recording and some control room usage with the mic, but I think I'll stick to just the computer.

Comments about Yamaha CM500 Headset with Built-In Microphone:
These fit so good over your ears, and the sound is great. I use these for voice recognition, and I traded these out for a USB headphones thinking usb would be better, and I switched back in a day, these are great in all aspects: comfort, sound, and microphone. I had a spare I gave to my mother in law so she could talk to her son in the military via skype, but I told my wife to steal them back because she's not using them (I hope).
Comments about Yamaha CM500 Headset with Built-In Microphone:
I originally purchased this to plug into my Roland Microcube while I was traveling in a hotel and playing guitar, with a side that it could double as a computer headset when needed. I've owned the product for 3 years, relentlessly crushing almost half a dozen logitech headsets in the same amount of time, so this thing can withstand a ton of abuse. I primarily use it for voice chat on my computer and the sound quality is absolutely amazing. For sound, this thing delivers. For VoIP it is more than adequate than the run of the mill computer headsets, but lacks the requirements for a performance piece. All in all, for the price you're getting a great headset for computer audio and voice comms, somewhat lackluster at performance level.
Comments about Yamaha CM500 Headset with Built-In Microphone:
I was suprised at the poor quality of sound from the mic on this headset. The earphones are great, I own 3 other pair without the mic for my studio setup. I also own "The Singing Machine" cordless headset mic and the quality is waaaay better. Also, with this heaset plugged into my Behringer PA, I can only hear it with the included battery pack. It's barely audible with Phantom power and the fader at max. It works ok as a computer headset though. Singing is real tinny, like a walkie talkie, maybe because the actual mic is so small. I'm buying another "singing machine" headset and mounting that mic into this headset...seriously.
Comments about Yamaha CM500 Headset with Built-In Microphone:
The Yamaha CM500 Headset w/built in Mic is a exceptional value. When looking for these I was expecting to see prices anywhere from $60 on up.I am a drummer and have the drums on a separate mixer for our band. I have the mic on the headset going directly to our main mixer and can have the headphone plugged into the drum mixer allowing me to control the headphone volume. Although the mic is not made for vocals of a band, the little bit of back up vocals I do sound great through this mini mic. This is exactly whay I was looking for and has performed beyond my expectations. I recommend this for any drummer who is sub-mixing the drums to the main mixer as it works great for back up vocals and allows you to keep your concentration and your hands on your sticks for drummin'. I would recommend this for any drummer to use.
Comments about Yamaha CM500 Headset with Built-In Microphone:
I have used this product in big arenas along side ESPN's 600.00 headsets and when compared, there was no difference. I am a sports commentator. I have personally used this headset at Art of War 1(american airlines center) UTS-6(Dr. Pepper Center, Frisco, TX) IFF(Will Rogers Collesium).I have also used them in the broadcast studio along side large diaphram condenser mics, and with very little processing was able to match the depth.I own 3 of these and just ordered another 3.
Comments about Yamaha CM500 Headset with Built-In Microphone:
I cant say enough about this mic. I am a sports commentator, and use this at ringside for MMA fights. I have used it for 2 years and the quality for the price is outstanding. It is durable, and easy to sound check. I bought 3 and am getting ready to buy 3 more. I want to have 2 sets so I can have one for local shows and use them for in-studio guests on my show. If you podcast, drum, or announce in big arena's this is the mic to get. I have used it in the Will Rogers Center, The American Airlines Center, and the Dr Pepper Center for shows like Art of War, IFF, UTS-6, and Chuck Norris's WCL. If you are smart, buy it.
