Comments about Yamaha DSR112 Active Loudspeaker:
Clear sound, especially for vocals. Plenty of headroom. Great for use on stage as monitors. Versital and compact for small stages requiring close band configurations.

Replaced k12s. Replaced a Verve. Bought one initially for a solid monitor for my axe-fx. This powered driver has replaced both my fbt verve and qsc k12s. Writing this review to say that I just bought yet another; this will be used for the band. Highs are smooth and authentic; lows roar and do not break up. Head room is great. I REALLY like this speaker better than the qsc's and it's less finicky than the Verve. I bought two. woot. Fantastic product for live rock and roll band. We're live players in the regional festival scene and clubs. Doesn't look too fancy, but drives a magnificent sound for monitor, backline or foh.
Comments about Yamaha DSR112 Active Loudspeaker:
Tried JBL PRX 12" (2 of them) side by side with Yamaha dsr's. Got the dsr. The yamaha is wood, but it a fiber glue composite. PRX is real wood. No matter. Sturdy as the jbl, but sounds smoother and alive than the prx when compared next to each other. Blind test (not really/just back turned) and Yamaha jumped out. Power, real pleasing upper mids, and no plastic sound like the QSC K12 (nice speaker) but I do like the sound of the DSR112 more.
