Comments about Yamaha HS80M 8" Powered Studio Monitor - Each:
Musician's Friend comes through once again. I had a pair of Yamaha HS80M speakers for about 9 years. Suddenly, one of them went silent. The light was on but no one was home, no sound. Speaker was not blown but it simply stopped working. Ran it through all checks, different tests and cables, and it was simply dead. I love these monitors. They sound incredible. Figured I got my money's worth after 9 years. Checked around for the best price, called Musician's Friend and they beat everyone hands down. Ordered another HS8OM on a Sunday evening, got the new speaker by 12noon on Wednesday. Sounds amazing. Great service, great products from Musician's Friend. A happy customer...again.

Comments about Yamaha HS80M 8" Powered Studio Monitor - Each:
Best studio monitors i have used so far great features and sound and really helps with mixing and mastering. Plus they look professional and i can't say enough on how good they sound and better than my behringer truth monitors. Great buy for the price and would buy another pair if i could!!

very good sound
Comments about Yamaha HS80M 8" Powered Studio Monitor - Each:
overall they are a pretty accurate monitor for the money. i would recommend them.
these have all the features i need. i have everything set to flat and they sound true for the space i use.
quality seem good to me. they seem to be well built.
i think this is the best bang for the buck in this class. my first purchase were krk rocket 6's. they had almost no high end production. my mixes would be all over the place. i think they suck. the yamaha's are superior. they give a much more accurate representation of what is actually in the mix. they smoke the KRK rockets.
Comments about Yamaha HS80M 8" Powered Studio Monitor - Each:
The frequency range and clarity on these monitors are amazing! Provide VERY accurate mixes that don't hide any imperfections. I do not own the sub but so far I haven't really needed it. I highly suggest getting these for a studio of any size. Great buy!
Comments about Yamaha HS80M 8" Powered Studio Monitor - Each:
I just finished my basement studio/mancave and installed these monitors. These monitors are great. For the money there may not be a better pair of speakers. My friends that come over and listen to the music that comes out of them are amazed. Another great product from Yamaha.
Comments about Yamaha HS80M 8" Powered Studio Monitor - Each:
I've owned a pair of these Yamaha HS80m monitors for two years as well as a pair of HS50m monitors (which sound very similar except for the low end and the lower mids around 200hz being more prominent and clear in the HS80m). I stumbled upon these monitors during my quest to find the NS10s that so many mixing engineers and studios have used for years. NS10s don't hide the bad stuff like say a pair of ADAM A7's do. They expose it. The NS10s do a great job at translating mixes accurately onto other sound systems. With the HS80m monitors, the goal was to recreate a workhorse similar to the legendary NS10s in a new powered version. The result? An unbelievable monitor and a very accurate attempt by Yamaha. The optional EQ adjustments on the amp itself give you many variations including the ability to recreate the natural EQ of the NS10s by boosting the 2khz frequency. I can always depend on my mixes translating to any sound system accurately and consistently. I am able to pick out bad frequencies with ease. No sound is hidden or colored, only exposed. This factor makes my decision making in mixing very accurate and efficient. If you're contemplating buying these monitors vs. another pair: No other powered monitor will give you this great of accuracy for your recordings and mixes.
