It's perfect for mating with the popular Club Series speakers, as its power signal is tuned via YS processing to the needs of Club Series speakers. It features both XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs and Neutrik Speakon, phone plug, and 5-way binding post outputs. Other features include sweepable high- and low-pass filters, Yamaha's exclusive EEEngine technology for high performance with exceptional efficiency, and a variable speed fan. 2U chassis. Delivers 700W/ch @ 4 ohms, 500W @ 8 ohms, and 1,400W @ 8 ohms bridged.

It's an amp. It makes things louder. Easy to set up and easy to transition to from the old blown amp.

When I got ready to add a few components to my system I went to my long time friend and equipment dealer. Of course when I walked in I had my list in hand and my mind set on what I wanted. Being on a budget I went for Crown's new budget amp, the XLS802d. Well quite unexpectedly, Tony suggested something else. Other than a Crown? What was going on? Is he crazy? He showed me the P5000s and I was blown away. The features it had on it blew my mind. It has a built in low/hi pass filters with a wide range of selectable threshold frequencies, built in limiting and processing to prevent those "ooops" moments, and selectable stereo bridged AND PARALLEL settings as well as 1/4" outs. You know how long it's been since I've seen 1/4" outs.Needless to say, it has the exact same power as the XLS802d at the same price, PLUS, features that rival that of Crown's XTi series.When I got it home it performed like a beauty. Its everything I would come to expect out of a heavily used, heavily traveled, professional power amp.Good Job Yamaha!!!I would suggest this to ANYONE!!!
