I wanted some headphones for silent practice (guitar), but I find those big DJ headphones extremely uncomfortable in the way they squeeze your head, and I don't think spending hours with earbuds listening to guitar is healthy for your ears. These Yamaha headphones are exactly what I was looking for. Lightweight, extremely comfortable, and the sound they produce is great. Best of all though, they don't squeeze your head.

These may be ok for other uses, but I bought them for use with a small (10w solid state) guitar amp and the sound is very poor. They are useable at VERY LOW volume, but if I turn it up just barely, it's terrible. I was very pleased when I thought I could get Yamaha quality for such a low price, but this product doesn't offer Yamaha quality. I'm surprised they would put their name on these things. A pair of Sony Walkman headphones from 25 years ago had better sound than these do. I would send them back, but it's probably not worth the trouble considering what I paid.

Comments about Yamaha RH1C Ported Stereo Headphones:

Saw these for a low price and tried them. Very good so far for just listening to music on laptop. Probably not for audiophiles (this means snobs, basically), but plenty good for me, a regular person who likes music. Included adapter to 1/4 inch jack is a plus.

Comments about Yamaha RH1C Ported Stereo Headphones:

For the price they're okay so you don't worry if they get stolen or lost. They will break in a short time, but electrician tape (because of the color) will keep the assembly together. If you're an MP3 or compressed listener, then this is the product for you. For CD's or anything that provides full dynamic audio range, you'll be disappointed.

I was very disappointed with these Yamaha RH1C head phones. They were distorted in the treble range. I couldn't believe Yamaha would make such a poor product. I would have sent them back but
for their price, it wasn't worth the trouble. Never again.

Comments about Yamaha RH1C Ported Stereo Headphones:

Fantastic deal for under $15. Sound so clear. Glad I didn't pop the $50 I was thinking about spending.
I have them hooked up to our digital piano and they sound great. I'm not a musician, but the first time I put them on and started banging away on the Kawai I had to take them off and make sure the sound was coming from the headphones. It was so crisp and clear. Surprising for headphones this cheap.
I'm sure you could get higher quality sound but the difference couldn't be that big. These sound great.
Can't beat it for under $15.

                Horrible! Just horrible!

Comments about Yamaha RH1C Ported Stereo Headphones:

Horrible! I bought these to use with my laptop when checking newscasts online, but the sound quality is just awfull, so I can't even use them for that. I have had tons Yamaha stuff over the years, and while it's not always the best (although often it is!) I have never, until now, seen the Yamaha name on junk! This is junk! These will go to Goodwill!

                Good Practice Headphones

                By OP13

                from BIllings, MT

Comments about Yamaha RH1C Ported Stereo Headphones:

These are some pretty nice headphones, and they do what they're supposed too. They come with a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter, so you can use any other "normal" headphones with your amp too. They're nothing special, but if you want some nice headphones for practice, and you don't want to pay a lot, then get these. The cord length is very long, and they're quite durable.
