These Yamaha SW118V are massive, almost the size of a small washing machine! but they do the a great job . They round out my system. I have JBL JRX 115 tops and was thinking of getting the JBL JRX118S subs but they only go down to 55 hz, these go down to 30 hz which you can feel. I'm powering these with a QSC GX7 in mono which is more than enough power. Good product for the price, made with plywood and not MDF. Need some wheels too large to make a road case for them.

I started using these subwoofers about 3 years ago. Previously I built my own dual 18's to Yamaha specs. These single 18's absolutely outperformed and sound so much better. I put only 300 watts into them and they rock. I have borrowed larger power amps and they sound even better. I was in a club where I ran sound for a band and the club used S115V tops and SW118V bottoms. They used a QSC 1804 to powered the bottom and they were unbelievable. I truely recommend them. Watch the power rating! Do not over power them or any of your speakers. PEAK MEANS PEAK! I have heard about some guys using too much power and pushed their speakers way to hard. RESULT: they fried thier speakers.

Recently added a pair of SW118V's to my pre existing mains 2 (2x15" cabnets). These really made an impressive difference, adds excellent low end to any live show. Makes the kick drum come alive!
