Stunning audio and crystal-clear video.

Anyone who's ever experienced a film with great audio knows how vital sound is to the movie. The Q3 Handy Video Recorder brings Zoom's renowned audio technology to the camcorder, making it the best sounding video camcorder you've ever heard.

Brilliant Stereo Recording... Now on your videos
The Q3 uses the same microphone capsules as our industry-leading H4n Handy Recorder and is perfect for recording anything where great audio and video are a must. From live musical performances and rehearsals, interviews, conferences to video podcasts, journalism, education, recitals, weddings or sports, the Q3's pristine audio quality takes your videos to another level.

Designed with everything you need to make your movies right out of the box, the Q3 includes HandyShare software for editing, and a 2GB SD card for up to 1 hour of video recording time. And the Q3 will also accept up to 32GB SDHC cards for a staggering 16 hours of moviemaking.

Cutting room and distribution included...
When your shoot is complete, the Q3's cleverly designed USB cable lets you upload your movies to your computer. Then use HandyShare to edit and share them on your favorite websites including YouTube, Facebook and MySpace. Or, plug in the included TV cable and watch your videos on television.

With its high-quality, MPEG-4 SP video format at 30 frames per second, the Q3 renders crystal-clear video at 640 x 480 resolution. And the Q3's large, 2.4" LCD screen with a resolution of 320 x 240 makes viewing easy on the go. Its display also includes audio meters so you can quickly set and monitor your levels as you shoot.

True Stereo Sound
The Q3 has two condenser mics on-board, engineered in the same X/Y pattern that gives recording pros the best stereo recording possible. Arranged with the right and left mics on the same axis, this design ensures that the mics are always an equal distance from the sound source for perfect localization without phase shifting. The result is a great sounding recording with natural depth and highly accurate stereo imaging every time... all at the touch of a button.

The Q3 puts a little bit of video and a whole lot of audio together in one quick and easy to use camcorder that lets you produce great movies on the go.

I had great expectations for making music videos with the Zoom Q3.     All I got was horrible, hard to see, grainy, dark images.     And the sound is ok, but nowhere near as good as they advertise. I'm very sorry to report this! I do not like to be negative, but please don't waste your money on this!     I make better band videos with a hundred dollar Kodak Zi8.

The Zoom Q3 has great features: recording in stereo along with video. Problem is, the video is so bad that it outweighs any good audio that this unit offers.     Horrible video, even in daylight conditions. They should be ashamed for putting this product on the market.

Overall quality of the machine itself is very good.     The audio is good, but not that much better than other cheap video cameras that I have used.     The video is terrible!     Like taking a trip back to mid 1950s TV.

The Zoom Q3 would be a great value if the video was halfway decent. But it is not.

This recorder has very good video, but you need to really light your scene well to get a clear, legible view.  More than just room ambient light, use some soft spots and you'll look good.  The sound, though, is FANTASTIC.  It took our band some experimenting, placing the unit here and there.  Putting it too low had the instrumnets too loud. (Greg Bennett bass & Fender Strat Ultra through Ampeg B115t and Peavey Delta Blues). Putting it too far across the room had the vocals way too soft, distant.  BUT -- Sing right into it just like a regular mic, at your mouth height & about 12-18 inches away, and WHOA!  And this way you can play fairly loud and still get a great audio recording, hearing everything (including wisecracks from your drummer -What?) AND understanding the vocal.  The built in speaker is convenient for on-the-spot adjustment, but upload your stuff to a computer (be patient, as the included software is a bit funky) and burn a CD and your socks will be blown off! Just remember to treat it like a mic - for audio.  For video, obviously it's got to be back further from you, and then you won't get the dynamite audio.  But that's still ok for playing out or just screwing around.  Use an AC adaptor, and stock up on SD chips.  You'll dig it!

I use this ZOOM Q3 in my recording studio. I like that it's very easy to use and I was very impressed with the sound quality and video. I have used it to post videos for my band on a few websites and have had some great replies to what the sound and videos are . I'm a very happy customer and glad I bought this piece of equipment. I just want to thank ZOOM CORP for making such a great piece of equipment. Thank you very much.Being a songwriter as well as a musician, this is a very good piece of equipment to have for any musician or band who are as serious about the music they play and quality of the recordings this thing gives a musician.  Thanks again ZOOM and keep up the awesome work you're doing. Thanks again from Big Nick of 41SOUTH.

I got one of these when it first hit the market and found lots of fellow musicians did the same. It's incredibly simple to use, ust push and play. The software that comes ith it does work ok but could be more powerful (they may have upgrades I dont know of) and a "must have" is the AC adapter.. this puppy burns 2-AA batters about every 2 sets... or about 1:45 hours of operation in high res modes... I would love to see the HD version... but mine is reliableand a good value (Think I paid closer to 150 bucks)
