Professional Tube Preamp

I purchased the Aphex 207 because I always needed a professional mic tube preamp and never could afford a quality tube preamp. I took a chance from reviews that this preamp has the professional quality compared to most expensive tube preamps. I found that running the Aphex 207 pre and using my Wave SSL 4000 channel mixer plugin that it puts my sound up there with the big boys. I could only say good things about the Aphex 207 and all the options of technology of today. The preamp give me just enough headroom and low noise outputs to get the job done. I truly beleive the that Aphex 207 should not be compared to price. It is what it is a quality professional Microphone Tube Preamp that can easily be overlooked.

I really like this pre-amp. It gives you a very clean sound. Lots of gain before you get any feed back. At first I thought it wasn't on because it's so quiet. I use it for recording vocals, sax & bass into my digital recorder. I'm not a techie, but I highly recommend this unit. I like it much better than my Focusrite Penta (which I liked until I bought this). For the price I don't think you can beat the 207.

Great sounding, clear, and natural sounding pre's. Mic limit is is an amazing invention and a great tool for DAWs. Great job Aphex, I want to buy at least two more of these.

I use the Aphex 207 for just about everything I record now, but it really shines on vocals, in my opinion. Vocals sound rich, up front and in your face. The limiter feature really comes in handy when recording vocalists with varying dynamics (or bad mic technique)and allows you to record at optimal levels without worrying about clipping. Best bang for your dollars. I love it!
