Strong Distortion Pedal

This is a quality pedal. The X-Series knob is cool and gives you a wide array of sounds. But I'd advise you that you're going to need patience to get your sound just right, has a tendency to sound a bit whiny until you get everything dialed in. But this is certainly a strong pedal for the money.

so a few years ago i got this for a christmas present from my girlfriend. it sounds great on an amp with big speakers that can handle a heavy bass load like a marshall stack. however, a fender open back is going to show a giant hole in the middle.......which sounded odd to me the first time i put it through my princeton. overall, awesome pedal. put a TS-9 in front of it and you can keep up w/ a JCM-800

Alternative rock

i play in an alt rock band and i use this with my marshall hdfx100 and it sounds amazing! i love that punchy, thick sound and this pedal definitely gives it to me. i am about to buy a valveking 100 head, so im not sure if ill be using this pedal anymore, but for what i play now, it is perfect. i have a hot seymour duncan in the bridge of my epiphone les paul standard and it created tons of feedback, but that is fixable if you turn the gain to a little over halfway and turn the tone to the same place. im still not sure if it was the pedal or amp that made the feedback, but if you want to buy this thing, keep that in mind

I bought the hot rod with very little distortion experience and I am completely satisfied with it. I have it hooked up with the digi bad monkey and the sounds these two can make are unbelievable. If you play classic rock, rock, or just like to have screaming solos I would recommend buying this thing for sure. you'll love it.

This pedal is amazing!!! great distortion tones from soft over drive to hard rock. the only thing is it doesn't have a great HEAVY metal sound, but that can be fixed by turning your amp's over drive on. DON'T turn turn the amps over drive on to much, or it makes a small buzzing noise. I use this pedal with my zoom modeling amp and ltd ex-351d guitar(both are HIGHLY RECOMENDED). Over all, GREAT PEDAL!!!!!!

P.S. buy an ac adapter; it eats up batteries
