A musical and useful chorus

I went to the store to try out a chorus. I picked up a Boss chorus, but I put it back down thinking; "I already own so many Boss pedals. I should try something I haven't yet." So I got the Multi Chorus and played it through a Fender Deluxe.

I have to tell you that I was extremely impressed. I've heard so many people complain about thin chorus or unusable sounds on their pedals. None of that here. The chorus is fat but not muddy or overly boosted and all the sounds are usable. The voice knob does do a lot to give you the chorus in different ways. Basically like it says, they are "voices." I'm able to get the perfect Joe Satriani "Circles" chorus sound and I'm able to get a good blues chorus from it with a turn or two of the knobs. I can also set the depth and speed very low to get a super subtle sound that makes a rythm metal distortion sound really fat, a lot like the Master of Puppets sound that Metallica got through a similar method (I mean really subtle). And a lot of other sounds as well but those are my main sounds.

Everything is very adjustable and usable. I'm suprised by the sheer variety of tones this pedal creates and how many of them sound so musical. I thought that chorus would be a one trick pony type of pedal but I find my self clicking this one on too much.

As far as disadvantages, well it is a bit noisey. You can hear a hiss when it's on. Once you play it isn't vey noticeable and no one would notice it live. If you are an audiophile and only play in your bedroom and let your tonal OCD and 'gear hypochondria' get to you, then maybe it'll bother you. But it is in no way as annoying as a lot of people say chorus pedals are, and I don't use a noise gate.

All in all, I'm loving this pedal and it makes me want to continue buying Digitech stuff.

This pedal has good sound for playing grunge, and 90's rock. I would suggest it for anyone to use. I am very satisfied with this pedal.

This pedal has a very very good sound, and ok versatility.

The main problem is, unless you're using a power adapter, you better have several 9 volt batteries with you, because it drains batteries extremely fast. To make matters worse, when the battery dies, it make your amp sound like it just exploded. I just put a new battery in mine, but if this happens again soon I' am gonna throw it away a get a BOSS Chorus pedal.

Let me start by saying I'm a boss fan. However, frankly, they're chorus pedal don't have enough guts and depth. I tried sever "botique" pedals and never found what I wanted. I bought a Digitech pedal out of desperation. It is by far the best chourus I have ever played. Just a rich, lush beautiful chours effect with many settings for different flavors of effect. Best buy on the market, too.
