I have played this bass for a year now and I have no complants. It is a great bass with a great tone you can play all types of style and also it has a wonderful look!

This is a very beautiful guitar...candy apple red is the color that i recommend. it has a very good sound to it, although the first time i played it at a show it cut out for a minute. but that was only one occasion and it has never happened since. other than that it is a great guitar at and even more awesome price!!!

Nothing beats the quality & craftmanship of a Fender bass, even if it's manufactured in Mexico. The Fender Deluxe P-Bass Special is by far the most versatile bass that I've ever had the pleasure of not only owning, but holding in my hands. This bass just feels good when you play it! I've been using Fender basses for over 10 years, & this is the best quality that you'll find, & it also falls into a great price range. This bass is a tone monster, with a P, & a Jazz bass pick-up configuration, not to mention the satin finish neck! I must stress that the neck on this bass feels like it's been conditioned every time you play it! Fender is the best name in four string instruments, bottom line.

I have read reviews that complain about the pickups being noisy and cutting out, and out of the box my bass expierienced the same problem, in fact the p-bass pickup stopped working completely. I was disapointed, but I replaced the aliminum pickguard with a white perloid pickguard and not only is the bass more asthetically pleasing but it worked completely fine. The aluminum must not allow the bass to ground properly. Otherwise it is an amazing instrument for the money.

When i first started out playing bass i played a squire p bass and then a year later my dad bought me the Deluxe special and there was deffinetly a big difference. Its got the neck of the J-bass and the light weight of the P-bass. and both pick ups from either of the two great styles. I still play it today in my band Silent Corruption and it works great for getting some interesting tones.
