This steel-string version of Chet Atkins' solidbody acoustic concept was introduced in 1987 and has been popular with both country and rock players ever since. A mahogany back with Chromyte reinforcement is topped with true cedar. Fitted with a mahogany slim-tapered neck, ebony fretboard with star inlays, ebony bridge with pins, and gold hardware. Electronics include a bridge transducer pickup and active volume, bass, and treble controls placed on the rim. Includes hardshell case.

I play one through a Schertler Unico 150 and the sound is amazing. Rich, warm and clean all at the same time. Lots of full range volume without the annoying peaks. This thing is a dream in the studio. Quality with the ebony board, etc. is spot on.

I love this guitar. Eye appeal is 15 our of 10. Sound and playablity, 10! You can't ask for much more. Action and neck like an electric, sound and look of acoustic. It's a complete dream. Only thing I don't like, the fact that I have to plug it in to play, that's it.

This guitar is in my opinion the best guitar made.

I use the chet for the "dave matthews" type acoustic playing, and on stage it feels like a glove.

If you play in a band, and you play acoustic, and you want to jam it out on stage with out a big bulky acoustic but still want the clear crisp sound, the chet atkins is the way to go.

The sound you get from the guitar is amazing, crisp and clean at any volume with out feed back.

Any way you look at it this is and all around great guitar, great looks, great sound, what more could you want?

The Gibson SST is the smoothest guitar I have ever played, and it has absolutely no feedback, whatsoever. The piezo pickup and electronics are also really great.
