The Ibanez PH7 from the Tone-Lok Series lets you choose either 4 or 8 stages of phasing, from swirling speaker to that full-on phase you need for heavy rock and roll.

On the outside, Tone-Lok effects are equipped with the Ibanez exclusive set and forget Push-Lok rotary pots. Push the knobs down and your tone settings lock securely inside the case—no more lost settings or broken knobs.

On the inside, Tone-Lok pedals feature hi-fidelity components carefully tweaked with the constant input from a new generation of Ibanez players. And all this great stuff comes encased in cool looking, road-tough metal boxes at prices the working player can afford.

Great Phaser

OK so it's not a tank in the construction dept. but it is well built. It's affordable and for my tastes, sounds perfect for what I do. The ad is misleading in that it is not 8 stages of phasing. It has 4 and 6 but not 8. I like being able to recess the knobs to make it harder for my settings to be moved during play and transportation. I know it's a pedal with just 4 knobs but read the manual on how they work it will help and save time in finding the right sound. I prefer to have the switch on 6 stage as it is a bit more present and aggressive. It's a nice blend of vintage and modern phase tones without getting digital or fake sounding. On stage 4 it's too subtle for my tastes and is barely audible even with the level all the way up. Sort of like a phase 90. Sounds great just too subtle for me so I keep in on 6 stage. Overall this is the best phase I've ever played and gives me the virtually perfect phase tone I was looking for. I run it in the front of my mesa triple rec. with no loss of tone or signal. I love it and would buy it again if anything ever happened to it or it was stolen.

I was disapointed with how tame its sounds are. it's effects are very mild but noticable. I would not buy it again if it broke but I'll hang on to it as long as it lasts.

This really is a good pedal if you want to add texture and color to your playing. I play both guitar and bass through this, and it adds a special little bit of atmosphere to a relaxed or smooth song.

If you want vibe, atmosphere, color, or anything of the sort...get this pedal. If you use it right, it'll work wonders.

I have given this a lower rating based on the fact that it really isn't that impressive. They used to promote this thing like mad, but now you hardly hear a single word spoken of it.

I bought this to add atmosphere to my sound. But you're only getting a phaser, nothing more.

The pedal tends to not want to turn on/off with the first couple of attempts at switching it. So the thing hardly works when you need it to.

For the money... i doubt i'd buy it again. I dont use the effect that much, mainly because of its switching problem. But i think i would invest in a Boss version instead of this.

You wont get any unique sounds, ...well the ray guy, but again that isn't that impressive either.

Subtle but Solid

This pedal has some nice features, such as the click-to-recess buttons, and it is a good, sturdy pedal. It's output, though, might not be enough for someone looking for a really agressive swirl. The noises it makes are... tasteful, nothing too disturbing. While it adds a pleasant texture to one's sound, it certainly isn't the headf*ck I was looking for. However, I like what it does, and I'm finding ways to use it for that.
