This pedal gives you a wide assortment of synth-esque sounds. it has a deep swirly classic phase, a bright, ringing sequencer, and a cyclic, high-frequency for more subtle tone changes. 3 modes change from four stage inverted (Vintage) 6 stage inverted and normal.-.5 for quality, because I just got it, and you will probably want a noise gate.

Great if you have a Gate

After thinking over if I wanted to add a phase modulator to my effects chain aside from the one in RP. I recently purchased one and am quite happy with it as it has so many options I don't see myself ever gettings bored with it. It has a wave type switch that goes from vintage phase, to sequencing effects, and finally ring modulation. The feedback knob is quite a bit touchy and takes awhile to get used to. My biggest problem with it was when I was playing with the sequencer wave and every single stray buzz got caught and sequenced. I wound up turning the threshold on my Gate to maximum and the problem was solved but so much as one notch below maximum and it would pick the buzz up again and start sequencing it. I believe it may be a problem with my pickups but all the same I would recommend buying a noise gate with this if you do not already have one. Aside from that this has got to be my favorite pedal.

This pedal makes some pretty cool sounds. The speed of the phase sweeping doesn't get very slow, but if you turn the depth control all the way down you can have a locked-phase kind of thing going. The sound result isn't very intense, though. The various modes and settings do allow for several different approaches to sound, but nothing really goes "all the way," if you know what I mean. Kind of OK. If you don't want your sound to be too interesting, this could work for you.

I bought this pedal a few years ago and it's just now starting to fizzle out on me. The casing construction is not as durable as I thought it would be. I have to really slam my foot down on it to get it turned on.

But when this pedal was working, it was amazing. You can manipulate this thing to do just about anything you want. I'm not sure if your average classic rock guitar player would appreciate this, but for anyone looking to get strange sounds you wouldn't expect out of a guitar - this is your tool to do it with. I am probably going to re-buy this pedal.

First off for the price this pedal is incredible. Built like a rock, has MANY many different settings and the tone locks prevent you from accidentally changing settings when you're gigging it. There is so much you can do with this, from classic phaser, to ray-gun, to mechanical sounding, thick and creamy, or light and smooth, real slow, or so fast that it alters the sound waves themselves. Awesome awesome pedal. listen to the sound clips and then BUY IT!
