Great pedal for the price. Smooth, quiet and does not suck tone. I run this through a Dr. Z Route 66 and even with that clear a front end this stays clean. Buy without fear.

Excellent pedal. It has quality components. Its has a very quiet light touch foot switch. NO loud click. Very quiet pedal. It all depends where in the chain it goes for maximum response. I have it running through the front of my Diezel Herbert, Not through the loop. Its different for everybody so you should experiment with it and try it through the loop and the front.. I get the total EVH phase thing. It's perfect. EVH used a phase 90 for his solos and he wanted a light phase. THIS pedal does just that! For the price its great. Compared to the other EVH phase pedal this is built better and the components are similar to the original Phase 90. So you can't ask for better. Cheers!

I tried a Maxon Phase Tone after trying the Akai Intelliphase, the Boss PH-3, the MXR Phase 90, and the MXR Phase 100. This pedal had the worst sound out of all of them, being very very subtle (can barely hear it with distortion). Also, on a clean setting, if I strummed harder the pedal would cause an ugly distortion. As soon as I heard that I got rid of this pedal in favor of an Electro Harmonix Small Stone. I'm happy now.

Maxon makes great pedals, sound great, built to last for years.
