Not indestructible, but...

I was having one of THOSE days. I had the kids with me at a band rehearsal that got done late at night. I was tired, the kids (one of them an infant) were tired. I went to put the bass in the back of the van was locked. So, I set the bass down at the rear of the van, went to the front of the van and unlocked the doors. The baby was screaming, the mosquitoes were biting, the older kids complaining, and I just wanted to get home. I forgot about the bass. I backed out over it. I started to drive away, thinking something didn't feel right, then realized what I'd done. When I got out of the van, I had that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. The case was totally busted on one end, crushed. I was hesitant to see what happened to the bass inside. I opened up the flattened case to find my jazz bass in perfect condition. When I got home, I plugged in and the bass played flawlessly. I knew this case was good. It had already saved my bass from countless dents and dings and scratches. I don't know how many times my kids have messed up guitars and basses in the past, and gig bags never offer enough protection when taking instruments on the road. But I never would have expected this case to protect my bass from something like being run over by a van. Gladly, this case has exceeded my expectations

this case has been there for me over the past year, many shows, tours, and abuse. its very sturdy (a 100+ pound bass cab fell on it and it didnt no damage) the latches are great, ample room for accesories, nice plush interior. pricy, but worth it.

I just bought the SKB-44 for a 87 Fender Jazz Special that didn't have a case and it fits as though it were made just for that model. Snug fit, all of my latches line up and open and close perfectly. The case closes tightly. I've owned the SKB cases for my other guitars for around 10 years or so and they look and funtion as if I just bought them. Some of them have been dropped in the case many times and don't even go out of tune. I can only speak for myself here, but these are the only cases I will buy and use.

Hey don't get me wrong, SKB makes some heavey duty stuff, but the locks don't line up right making it hard to close. Much better than buying the musicians friend hardshell case I must say. It is a great case for touring, but as a side note, check out the other SKB products before buying this one.

This is an amazing case. It had plenty of room for my bass, cables, tuner, straps and extra strings. Only thing it didn't have room for was for a couple of my effect pedals, but aside from that, this case is perfect. I fly with my bass a lot, and every flight my bass is perfectly protected. Not even a single dent. This case is worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone.
