Fender Squire kicks! This Fat Telecaster plays fast and smooth. The humbucking pickup has a fat sound - very cool and the alnico has the tele twang (brighter sounding). Both together or alone are awesome. Real cool for Country, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Metal, Everything! The Antique Sunburst is deep, darker than lighter reddish, in-between, with black all around the reddish and a black with white outlined pickguard. Nice workmanship! Beautiful rosewood fretboard and maple neck. Large tele body. Mirror Chrome hardware, Alder/Agathis solid hardwood. It looks and plays like a dream. I think this is going to be my most played instrument of all my guitars. It's just a lot of fun to play. Great guitar and great price. Way to go Squire and the Indonisian people are fine craftsmen/women! It came to me in four days and was flawless!

My wife bought this for me after she had noticed that I always picked up tele's and tried them all out every time we went to a music store. I already have several guitars with dual humbuckers, and a few have coil taps, but I could never seem to quite get that singing, biting single coil sound.
After getting this guitar home and plugging it into my Line6 POD 2.0, I was pleasantly amazed. I did have some trouble getting the strings to stretch out and hold tune for the first couple of hours, but eventually they have settled in well and hold even after some wide, hard bending.
The single coil at the bridge is everything a tele is known for; stinging, biting leads until you roll back the tone a bit, then smoothing into a mellow, clean tone. The humbucker is quite a bit hotter than the single coil, which works very well for me, giving me the option of a very dirty, rock rythem sound, or a smoother, almost jazzy roundness with the tone rolled down. The pots are smooth and clean, without scratching or drop outs. Pick up switching is noisless, no clicks or thumps. The blended sound is surprisingly full for a telecaster.
The neck is smooth, soft and quite fast, allowing everything from easy, blusy bends to legato runs all the way to full shred. The frets are well finished, and smooth as glass.
Mine is finished in "vintage blonde" which is a yellowed white, looking like the guitar has seen 20 years of service in smoky bars.
A great blues, rock and hard rock guitar!

The Fat Tele is a great guitar for the $$$. If you are looking for a serious guitar for less than a couple hundred, this is your man. I must add though, I made some modifications and if you are actually going to use this guitar at all you may want to as well. The tuners need to be replaced. You don't need 24k gold plated locking tuners or anything but something that stays in tune a bit better than the stock indonesian ones. And of course you need to fit it with your strings of choice. I prefer pure nickel slinkys. Straplocks are always good if you don't like dropping your guitar. I also chose to completely re-do all of the guitar's electronics. I replaced volume & tone pots, caps, switch, and jack with quality american made components. I shielded both pickup cavities with copper tape to cut down any hum, and replaced both stock pickups. I went with a Humbucker-sized P-90 in the neck position, and a Dimarzio single-coil-sized humbucker in the bridge position. Also made some cosmetic changes like the pickguard and knobs. Anyhow, the point is it's a great starting point and you can easily tweak it to fit your particular styles and application. So buy it, man.
Very Nice

This is a good guitar it is very good for Jazz country and Rock. I think It is one of the better sounding Squiers for some one that can not afford a Fender. If I were you I would buy It.
