Comments about Sterling Audio ST55 / ST31 Condenser Mic Package:

This mic package is a great way to start a home studio. I record vocals and cello with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface to a Mac (Logic), and although I can't compare similar mics, these make it easy to produce a very professional sound.

The ST55 is clear and detailed, and the ST31 is great for specific positioning to get the right balance of fullness and clear highs, and it picks up less noise from the neighbors above/below my apartment.

My only qualm is that the pop filter's bendable support arm is a little flimsy and rotates too easily, but it's a minor inconvenience.

I am very pleased with this purchase, as it's a big step up in quality from the Samson C01U USB mic I used previously.

Comments about Sterling Audio ST55 / ST31 Condenser Mic Package:

This was one of the BEST deals/purchases I have ever made. I have used condensers before but never owned one. Amazing clarity yet very warm. I have owned & always used a Sure SM58 for gigs & home use. It's a solid mic for sure. Very affordable & popular. But if you have the extra cash, get a Sterling Mic. After plugging it in I cannot possibly got back to my SM58. My sure now sounds like putting a pillow over it compared to my SMT55. I'm even gonna use it for Live gigs. Sterling is a great product. All the Best. G

      Great mic package!

Comments about Sterling Audio ST55 / ST31 Condenser Mic Package:

Received this mic package last week & began some test recordings. The best results so far were placing the ST31 at the 14th fret & about 7 inches away from the neck of my Ovation acoustic, & the ST55 about 2 inches behind the bridge at 7" also. I was NOT disappointed!

The ST31 needed a lot more gain from my mic-pre, which made it have a lot more hiss than I wanted, which is why I'm rating this a 9 out of 10, but the tone was really surprising from both of these mic's considering the price! The ST55 yielded great results on vocals as well.

Bang for buck, great build, great looks, good performance. No project studio should be without these mic's!!

PS: Check out You Tube to see some great mic test with these on 4x12" cabinets too. Smokin'!
