Q: My fingers are killing me and I am ready to quit! I got my guitar 10 days ago and have been practicing for about an hour a day but the pain is getting bad and I don’t know if I can continue. Any advice would be appreciated.

A: BE are in the critical first two-week period that is the hardest to get through. But here is the good news: when you get to the stage where they really hurt, you are about to develop calluses on your fingertips, which will help lessen the pain.

An hour-long daily practice is a great amount of time to devote in your first playing stage. I promise you that very soon the pain will go away.

Hope this helps!
