I own both these courses ,and they are both great. John mccarthy is proficient in rock and rizzo is a specialist in metal and I noticed a complaint about there not being a booklet for these dvds. There is a booklet on the DVD itself which you download directly from the DVD!!! it says it on the packaging that it comes with an interactive E tab book,and its excellent!!!! the booklet explains a lot of things and offers advice and suggestions in addition to the amazing instruction on the dvds. I highly recommend both of these courses, as I have been a musician for over 10 years and checked out almost all the other courses available. these are by far the best!!!

If you want to buy a "Rock House Learn Guitar" dvd set, buy the "Rock House Learn Rock Guitar" set instead of this one. I made the mistake of buying both. John McCarthy is a much stronger, more indepth instructor than Mark Rizzo. McCarthy takes the time to explain each step by string and fret slowly, and then shows you the same sample in real-time speed. The only real flaw with the Rock Guitar set is he often refers to a booklet that does not come with the 3-pack, but you can manage fine without it and your hand on the "previous" button of the remote. There is also a great amount of overlap in the lessons of each of these sets, but each lesson is better presented in the "Rock Guitar" set. The "Metal Guitar Intermediate and Advance" is the most self-indulgent piece of garbage I've ever see. Rizzo takes little to no time to explain the more complex examples and spends more time showing-off and plugging his instrumental albums than teaching the audience. And once he is done plugging his several albums for the hundreth time, he then recommends his endorsements for gear to the audience. I do not recommend the "intermediate" or "advance" discs to anyone, unless you prefer to blindly learn sections of "Isosceles" over "Eruption", "Hot for Teacher", and "Mr. Crowley."

i bought the beginner metal guitar video back in april and have been playing it since. even though i was a beginner the way he taught made it so easy to learn and was so in-depth.and with the dvd you get a lifetime membership to the support site which has other helpful features it is a good buy!

These videos content are very good but the sound is very low.Ihad to turn my surrond sound all the way up and still the sound on all three videos was not loud.

Iam still on the first video, but John Mcarthy is a decent instructor. I am about half way through the first video. This series or even this company is all about reps. It has taken me a little over a month to master the first two rhythms. Overall, I like it and would recommend it if you have the time and the want to learn.

Beginner DVD is very informative, but intermediate and advanced moves too fast and is vague about what Marc Rizzo is trying to teach.You are better off buying just the beginner one. I'm going to star paying for lessons again. Not worth buying all 3.
