Comments about Tama Roadpro Snare Drum Stand:

I have been using Tama hardware for 30+ years. That means I have bought their line of drum and cymbal stands a grand total of twice. That's right, twice. I never in all that time had one single issue with any stand built by them. For all I know, my original stands may well be in use today, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit. This stand houses a hefty 14"x8" stave snare drum, and has never given me cause for concern that it will move or slide or tip. All my drum mic stands are Tama as well, because high quality runs through their entire line. If you're serious about an investment in quality stands, there is no other choice in my opinion. There are reviewers here claiming it doesn't go low enough. I don't suffer that particular conundrum (perhaps the reason being I have a 24" bass drum), and another claim the plastic basket tightening screw broke upon "throwing it" into the trap case. News flash: If you toss your equipment around, don't expect it to last very long, no matter the brand or how much you paid for it. This snare drum stand is solid, well built, has beef in the base, breaks down to practically nothing to transport and makes me feel confident it will last for many years to come. Five stars to Tama for best bang for the buck.

Comments about Tama Roadpro Snare Drum Stand:

I'm a hard hitting drummer. I got this stand to replace a 20 year old Tama stand that finally wore out. This one moves around on a solid concrete floor with carpet from snare hits. The base is not heavy enough and/or the leg system doesn't "dig in" well enough for me. I miss the old stand. This one requires that I use sand bags or gaff tape to keep it in place. I will move before I can finish one song. Big fail IMHO. It's probably great for lighter drummers though. It also needs to be able to go an inch or 2 lower. I have to put more tilt on my 6" DW snare than I like to get correct impact for my style.

Comments about Tama Roadpro Snare Drum Stand:

this is a good stand, i replaced an old pearl export snare stand with this. hard to beat pearl hardware . honestly this stand barely does. it is a nice stand with traditional snare stand characteristics.

Does not not work well with smaller snares!!

Comments about Tama Roadpro Snare Drum Stand:

Will not go low enough for a smaller snare!!! Even my 14''x5'' snare sits to high on it.
          It also tilts a bit....
It seems stable and decent quality just the hight issue for me.

Stability-wise its great, very strong and sturdy. No memory locks and plastic parts but I've had no problems and I've owned and beat on it for years.

          Tama Roadpro Snare Stand

          By Anonymous

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Tama Roadpro Snare Drum Stand:

I used to use DW hardware but I've switched over to Tama. This stand is really great for the price. It's sturdy and I haven't really had any problems with it. I use one for my rack tom and one for my snare. My only complaints are that (for my snare) it would be nice if it went a little lower and it tends to lean to one side a little bit, but it's no big deal. I'd recommend this stand.

Great stand with an Achilles heel

          By Anonymous

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Tama Roadpro Snare Drum Stand:

I have played drums for 23 years. 20 of those years was always using Tama roadpro hardware. In my opinion it is the best. However, there is a weakness to their stands. The black adjustment knob for the basket is made out of plastic. Unfortunately during a gig breakdown, I threw my snare stand into my hardware case and part (half) of the black plastic knob broke off. The half that remains still functions but you figure when you pay 70-80 bucks for a stand they would use a metal piece.
