Comments about Yamaha Baroque Soprano Recorder with Book:

Granddaughter started with bamboo flute bought at Renaissance Faire. However it's holes were just a bit big for her fingertips. Friend showed us this and we ordered on that week. Came in quickly and fit her perfectly. And sound perfect. She really enjoys it!

Comments about Yamaha Baroque Soprano Recorder with Book:

When instruction books are written simply, they serve the client. You can't teach if you can't reach. The book was able to reach me, thus teach me. The recorder, although inexpensive, was easy to use and produced a good sound. This was definitely a good purchase.

Comments about Yamaha Baroque Soprano Recorder with Book:

I got this instrument to see if I would like playing it. It has an ever so slightly better tone than the Flutophone sold at MF. It is difficult to get the lower notes when you first start to play. You may think it's the recorder, but if your fingers are not exact on covering the holes and you blow too hard you can't get the notes, but it will take practice to be consistant in getting the low notes especially low C.

The book has the basics of learning the finger positions for the different notes and a few folk tunes to play. It teaches how to read music too. It's a good spring board to learning how to play.

If you are interested in learning to play the recorder this is a good buy. You can't go wrong with the price.

      Good value--Good recorder.

Comments about Yamaha Baroque Soprano Recorder with Book:

Took it just over a month to arrive and was sent first class mail. For what I paid in shipping, should have came priority mail. But, oh well. Nice recorder, but is not made in Japan, but Indonesia, if that matters. Its a Yamaha, and that means Quality, at least to me. Looking to learn the recorder? Can't go wrong here. The book is okay, made for kids, but you have to start somewere.
