Comments about Yamaha YRS-64 Rosewood Soprano Recorder:

This rosewood recorder was well crafted. The head, middle, and foot joints fit perfectly together. Tone holes were cut with good precision. Everything was perfect except that the wood used was defected with porosity. Also the grain of the wood was too deep, especially around the joint areas. This will cause a crack to form with very little effort. Yamaha should have scrapped this one and started over with better wood stock. I own several Yamaha recorders and they are of really good quality. I am very partial to the Yamaha brand, this does bother me that they let this defect go through.
