Comments about Meinl Standard Bongo Bag:

I have been interested in music as far back as I can remember, maybe 4 years old. My mom and dad sing together with me and my sisters. He played the guitar and harmonica and mom sang harmony with him. When I was 7 years old my family and I went to dances in a family environment and I actually started learning to sing a few old songs and dance with my sister age 6. I remember having a harmonica and a small toy piano when I was about 8 years old. We always attended family get-to-gethers with both sides of my family where someone would play music on guitar, fiddle, harmonica and everyone participated in singing. My dad bought me my first guitar when I was 14 and started teaching me music. I have been teaching guitar lessons now for about 40 years and have collected about 48 musical instruments which I play all of them. Woodwind, brasswind, strings, and percussion harmonicas and button accordion and piano keyboard. I started a small business in 1993, J & R Music Sales & Service. I sell all kind of musical instruments and also repair, tune lubricate and polish most musical instruments. I started a Music Therapy program for nursing homes recently for the clients. Also I have been playing the saxophone and clarinet since 1965 and I enjoyed performing in large orchestras(50 to 60 peices in orchestra) from 1970 to about 1980 at large conventions from Dallas to Los Angeles.

Comments about Meinl Standard Bongo Bag:

Killer deal. Provides basic protection, essentially like a gig bag for bongos. Easily fits my LP Matadors -- these are full-sized pro-level bongos.

If you're doing lots of gigs and piling equipment in a van, this bag is not a great choice. But if you're storing bongos at home or doing uncrowded travel to gigs and rehearsals, this bag is ideal...and super affordable.

One odd note: the inside of the bag had a pronounced plastic-y smell when I first received it. The smell has dissipated in the two weeks that I've owned it, but I had to leave the case open for a few days to air it out.

Comments about Meinl Standard Bongo Bag:

Good bag for a good price. Don't expect it to protect against a tumble down the stairs or being crushed by guitar amps... it's not designed for that. If you need that kind of protection, buy a hard case.

I own several pairs of bongos and the Meinl Standard Bongo Bag fit my needs. This bag is inexpensive but well made. I use this bongo bag for gigs and storing my drums. You can get a 7" and 9" head bongos to fit into the Meinl Standard Bongo Bag.

I purchase this bag to store my restored LP World Beat bongo and it was a perfect fit. The bag is a well constructed gig bag. The only thing I thought lacking was a shoulder strap. This is a quality gig bag at any price!
