        Terrible buy

        By Master Symphony

        from Los Angeles, California

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

I bought this instrument around a year ago... The Bridge sucks, the pegs are bad quality the strings break easily and it wont hold in tune. The only thing that was fair was the bow. not recommended.

You Get What You Pay For...

        By Otto Ronstadt

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

I've been playing the violin for nearly 11 years now. I bought this violin for my younger cousin who is interested in it, and because he's has a moderate interest I settled for this model because of it's cost. What people forget is that, especially with instruments, you get what you pay for...don't expect to play like Paganini. For beginners it is a good instrument to learn fundamentals...worry about features and quality later.

        an okay sort of thing

        By Demoi_Porvous

        from Oregon

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

The violin itself is pretty good looking. But dont judge a book by it's cover. That's what i did by buying this violin for myself. The strings could be replaced to get a MUCH BETTER sound quality. i broke the A string the first time i tuned it. The bow is sorta not good. overall. THIS VIOLIN IS OKAY. just good for beginners.

        bad

        By hfishel

        from Ohio

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

I got this Violin about 4-5 years ago from here. If I could I'd bring it back and get a refund. This is a bad Violin. The strings are constantly breaking each time I try and tune it. NO Rosin works with the bow!!! I've tried like every brand known to man, and it won't stick with the bow. Also, recently it broke my chin rest that I bought separately.

        Good violin for the price

        By MusicMan-JngSX

        from Columbia, SC

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

I purchase this violin for my son who wanted to play in 5th grade. I didn't want to spend too much because he may not like playing, but he loves playing. He's in the seventh grade and still has it. I am going to invest in a new one, but we ready got our monies worth and more.

        Great beginner model

        By Raze

        from Northeast PA

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

Bought this outfit a year ago and have only recently begun to use it. Am enjoying it immensely. Tuning is maintained by gently but firmly forcing the peg into the pegbox once the string is in tune. You cannot simply tune the string and let the peg spin back out of place. Am anticipating the purchase of a higher quality instrument only after I get proficient on this one.

        Not a playable instrument

        By rsmith454

        from Detroit

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

We bought this for our son who is begining violin. We were renting from a local shop and thought this would be a good savings over the rental fees. Our private teacher, who is a local professional musician, warned us about these cheap violins but we decided to give it a try anyway. When we got it out of the box it could not be tuned, the hair fell out of the bow and the bridge was way to high to press the strings down. We took it to a local shop to mabey have it adjusted but the total costs added up. Just to make it reasonably playable. And with all of that work it still would be a cheap violin.

        Merry Christmas...

        By Screenager07

        from Muskegon, MI

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

Twas a fine Christmas morning and a young, eager musician opened his first violin and was as happy as a snowman in winter. Then, to his avail, after tightening bow and applying rosin and tuning the new musical instrument, Christmas turned bad. The bow snapped while applying more rosin, not the strings, the wood of the bow itself. Then the violin would not hold tune, it would "bounce back" to the old, WRONG tune.

        workin man's violin

        By fidfiddler24

        from Possum hole, LA

Comments about Doreli Model 59 Violin Outfit:

I've been fiddlin since i was 10 years old and this is by far the best violin i've played in this price range. It plays quite well for my style of hard fiddlin. I'd reconmend it to beginning fiddlers all the way to advanced fiddlers.
